Other then what is already out there, what would you like to see in a intake pipe kit for NA?

We already make perfect fit intake kits, but the labor is expensive. I'm trying to figure out a cheaper way of making the intakes. These are the things that I would like to see on a cheaper intake kit:

- 100% bolt on (no ghetto rigging)
- High Quality Couplers
- Power steering idle port on the bottom where it belongs (oem location)
- Fits with strut bar
- Aluminum construction
- Cold air option

Our current kit is nearly $200 for stainless steel. But I want to provide something under $100 for the budget folks.

Shoot some ideas.

Do you have a 4" intake pipe with an apexi filter? Just a thought, and if you do......I want it.

I was talking about an NA intake pipe (this is the NA section).

We can do a 4" intake pipe for a single, but the APEXi filter is 80mm max, so it is going to look a little small on the end.

There is K&N and AEM for 4" filter options.

We should probably move to PM and quit clogging up the NA section.

i'm sure a lot of NA people would love to see CAI systems for low budget, i'd probably buy one depending on what kind of filter is used. i just hate looking at the stock airbox everytime i open my hood

Rob, can you get me a 70mm adapter for an Apexi filter? Like they include in the universal kit. I'm no longer running a GE AFM so I need a round neck for a hose. If it's more than half the price of the universal kit (all that I've found so far have been) I might as well pick up the whole kit and have a spare filter.

would be a great idea i think for the NA guys. a filter alone (fipk) is expensive and if you were to make one that looks nice for a good price (the 100 or less) its great

Now if you make something with all of the above - I will gladly buy one even with a sticker price of $100 - Gosh for an intake that isn't all ghetto rigged - I would probably go even a little higher than $100

I have seen several people fit kits from different vehicles onto their N/A's - but they have no flash, and I can't say that they added a lot of dash.

If the cold air option can be done properly, then having the intake would be a lot more worthwhile.

I will be on the lookout for this concept intake to be purchaseable.

Here is the beginning. I didn't like the usual civic pipe that people use, because the nipple is in the wrong place. I think this one is from a prelude. So you can see that it is a little more clean. I will add the nipple under the intake in the OEM location under the intake pipe, so you don't see it.

I will also include the proper sized couplers in black. This is just a test fit to get some idea. Last, I will add the cold air extension, to make a complete and easy kit.

I've wondered about the location of that nipple ever since I got my setup running... on mine it's in the same spot as it was on my stock intake piping. I guess it's because I'm using a CAI kit.

Here is the one that 935Motorsports did for my old NA a few years ago.

I picked up some better couplers, so I'm ready to provide 3 intake pipe kits without cold air. They are going to be $75 for the first three. This is the piping, couplers, and clamps only. This includes 2 multi layer black couplers, 4 t bolt clamps, and the intake pipe.

The front part of the intake (adapter, filter, and cold air option) is still under construction.

any word on a filter, coupler, clamps and cold air, without a filter/air adapter?

or would it be a complete set?

I already have an HKS SMP, so all i'd need is the CAI extension, and the pipe, and mounting hardware and couplers..

I have 2 prototypes done:

Here I have placed the hole for the power steering vac hose, so that the oem fitting can be used.

I just have to pick up some T bolt clamps, and they will be ready for sale. The pipe, couplers, T bolt clamps, complete is $99.

The full kit with HKS adapter and generic filter is $139. The cold air extension is not ready yet.
