The old seals get ruined when taking off the drip rails anyways. The problem is the drip rails, use lots of silicone between them and the actual roof panel. That fixes everything.

I've always had an issue that when you take the top off, it's alot harder to hear the stereo clearly, so I mounted these speaker pods behind each headrest in my MKIII.
My idea is to expand on these, make a one piece, fiberglass pod to mount speakers. I made a mounting bracket that follows...
Once again, what kind of self respecting build thread goes 2 months without a picture update, WTF, lets get this thing back in motion my brotha!
:ttiwwp:
Thanks Clip......................
Promises, promises......................here's a great idea, the Florida MKIII crowd can drive in to Mississippi the 1st day (after they pick up Reign) and meet up with all of you at Jugodegolf's place, and then you all caravan in to Houston together! The party...
Thanks a bunch guys, it sure would be cool to see this thing get built. Plus to drive it on the Tour would be pretty awesome too.
I knew you would like that color blue SupraHero! I actually love blue myself!
The 7M is an awesome engine, plus it's 3 litres like the 2JZ. The only thing wrong with the 7M platform are people that don't know how to maintain them properly, and don't know how to build them properly. Then when they fail, it's the engine's fault. :icon_roll
Last August I entered this contest by Spectre Performance where they wanted people to design a 1970 Ford Maverick for them. My design has made the finals and I sure could use your votes. My design has a 7M-GTE drivetrain in the Maverick, along with the MKIII seats, while the rest of it has the...
Amazing Car Doc, it's awesome to see it finally finished.
I haven't been able to spend much time on this board lately so wasn't aware that the ROTM Competition was back. This car definitely deserves the props, it looks badass, has an amazing engine bay and interior. I'm really glad you decided...
The sketch that you included makes alot of sense to me, I could see that working, but it will take a few trial runs to perfect it. Here are a few thoughts that come to my mind.
I was always against an aluminum Targa Brace because in order to get it as strong as steel the welds, gussets, etc...
Hey that looks awesome, great job.
Here's another project for you. Go buy a can of laquer thinner (cheap enough) and use it to scrub all of the rubber in your engine bay. It will make it all look like new rubber parts, plus it will make them soft again. Use solvent gloves though, because the...
If you gut a hardtop, it has the same reinforcements as the Targa in the sills......................................
The A pillars might weight one pound more?
No one will ever produce these figures, because there is no difference in weight, that's a myth.
Personally, I'll take a Targa anyday over a hardtop, my top rarely ever gets put on my car.
