Grab the swaybar near the ends and see if shaking it up and down shows any play in the end links. Could also have play in the two rubber pivot bushings where it bolts to the subframe.
There's a ton of things that can make noise back there, but that's a common one.
The shocks can too, if they...
I'd swap them out for some stock gauge faces, rather than always knowing how fast you're going in canada. That's a pain, I had a car with KPH gauges once.
Car looks pretty clean though, good find.
If you want to really clean up the engine bay, just start taking out anything that you don't...
I was pulling my fuel rail to fix (what I suspect is) one or more seeping lower injector o-rings that's causing rough hot restarting (hard restart only after it sits for 1/2 hour, not usually any other time) when I found my cam sensors are leaking oil into the harness plugs. It's leaking through...
Parts I wish someone made...
JZ top feel conversion fuel rail that's plug-N-play with the factory fuel line and regulator (you'd have to make a 1JZ and 2JZ version I guess, since the regulator is in a different spot IIRC). Make it so that 7MGTE 440's fit. I hate side feed injectors. When they...
I wouldn't have said anything, but he asked. The reason he asked for opinions was because Super Street said the car didn't flow well or something like that. I'm not throwing stones or anything.
Personally, I don't think SS should post their opinions ("mods that should have been done") of...
I always liked ACT clutches, never had a problem with one. They actually test the clamp load and holding power of each clutch they make and publish the specs. Some companies don't do that (and that's suspicious to me).
I don't like that style bumper on a MKIII, but the rest of the car is nice. If you don't like a stock bumper, the greddy bumper is nice.
Sort of related... but did you see the flat black 1G RX7 with the RB26 in that issue? I really liked that car for some reason. Not just the paint either. I...
I had a side exit on my eclipse. It sounded pretty sweet. The main reason I did it was to save weight, it cut 20 pounds of SS pipe out of the picture.
The downside is that you will never have a nice shiny exhaust tip. Road dirt and gravel will beat a polished SS tip into a half polished mess in...
Yeah I was dead set on a turbo eclipse when I was 16. My parents tried to "cut it off at the pass" by buying me a non-turbo... but I researched the hell out of it and did a NA-T swap that was pretty reliable, and I drove the car for 9 years. I guess your results will directly correlate to your...
If you find a $5000 Miata and buy it and don't like it, I would trade you for my supra... after I take off about $4500 in parts to even out the value. Just something to keep in mind.
The MR2 will try to kill you. It's not about how much power it has. They are a mid engine rear wheel drive car, which is like learning how to drive fast on a unicycle. Sure, if you're careful you can do it. You'll never reach your potential as a driver if you start off with a car that's...
I would use a plastic welder. I wouldn't try filling that whole area in though. I'd get another scrap bumper and cut a part of the flat section out from the sides of the scrap one and weld it in the center of the good bumper.
There's a blockoff mod to take it out, which I might do, or I might just ebay it and get something else. This won't fit where I wanted to put it, so I might just get something shorter and wider.
I picked up an oil cooler from a TurboII FC RX7 to use on my 1JZ. It has a built in 160 degree thermostat, but when the oil is cold I'd rather not squeeze it through the cooler lines and have an excessive pressure drop, so I'm planning on running a sandwich adapter with a thermostat so it...
