    synthetic oil question

When I did research on this last year the German Castrol was getting more and more difficult to find. I went with the Pennzoil Platinum because I could get it here at WallyWorld. Obviously GC is still around, whats the best source for it nowadays?

    Hmmm, go MKIV?

Flip the interior to gray. Mine was. Plus, the 87/88s came stock white/gray.

    Tires for stock 16's

What'd you do Poo?? You used to love your SPTs! I like mine, I haven't had any slippin' and slidin' on wet pavement. Sticky as they are I imagine they would break away hard. Every tire has its limit. Seems like once a tire goes sideways all traction is gone. I didn't like the continentals on my...

How do you vote on something without knowing how it affects the car's performance?

    Hmmm, go MKIV?

You are thinking about dropping big bucks on an MKIV, why not just by an MKIII thats "finished"? easy to find right now for under $10k. Keep your old car for parts. Sure, unless its been rebuilt by someone with a good reputation, you don't know if its been rebuilt right. But, with a little...

    Got my car appraised today..

It is listed as restricted use: "Maintained principally for use in exhibitions, clubs, parades or other functions of public interest." So I called my agent. I said look, I may be driving this car to work tomorrow (weather permitting). She said that was ok. All she was concerned about is that it...

Now I can see the stripes. I've never seen one pinstriped like that before, and it works! Like the wheels too! Was thinking about doing something like that for my next set of wheels. What size are those?

    Got my car appraised today..

I gave a list of all work and mods done to the car to the appraiser. Its not that far from stock. The insurance company did not ask. Nobody asked me if I raced the car. I'm sure I gave the appraiser the impression that its just a fun project car for me, which is true. I got a speeding...

    Got my car appraised today..

I sent the appraisal and forms into Grange Insurance. They accepted the agreed value of $10,000. I got my new policy rates back. The premium on the Supra DROPPED $100 for the 6 month coverage period. It is classified as an antique/classic car now. The agent says the underwriters know such cars...

Ok, I guess I stand correct on the white/gray issue..perhaps it was only certain years that combo was offered? And the white on my car does not have a pearl effect at all. Its a white metallic paint. It really pops in the sunlight. You can see it on the latest Lexus RX350s.

White w/gray is not a factory option. This car used to have a red (pink?) interior. Johnathan you need to fix your .sig pic - its all messed up and its one of the coolest ones out there so please fix ;) Repost your pic at a higher resolution IJ. It looks like it has pinstriping, but the res...

    ***The White Supras Thread***

After new paint job this past summer. Sorry, this is not factory white, but it is a new white offered by toyota on its current line of cars - crystal white pearl: And something you may have never seen, a white MKIII with a gray interior. Carpet is new, a few shades darker than factory...

Where does your bad luck happen most? mine: cars

One who does not believe in a higher power would accept the randomness of the universe. Otherwise, those who believe in a higher power know there is potential to allow it to change one's life.. This is so true! My ex is the eternal victim - never his fault, never his doing. In fact, the...

Where does your bad luck happen most? mine: cars

I have a tire curse. No, seriously! I've never been to Egypt, so its not a curse I got from a pyramid, but I must've walked into a cursed garage at some point early in life and got the tire curse. I always, always buy the road hazard insurance. It ALWAYS pays off! Most people I know NEVER buy...

    OEM paint clearcoat or not?

White cars did not have a clear coat. The paint stains easily, and takes alot of elbow grease to clean. I made sure my new paint included a clear coat. <-- that is my car before new paint. You can see a brown stain on the bumper below the license plate that I was never able to remove.

Do you Daily Drive your car in Good Weather?

Don't you mean "always" drive George? ;) Here's a bad day for George: "The Supra won't start..Guess I'm stuck driving the other Supra!" Best I can do when one Japanese car won't start is drive the other Japanese car!

a little water on passenger side floor

Your floor is suppose to have a black rubbery liner under the carpet to help insulate the car and keep water out. Mine was completely missing, plus several floor plugs were removed on the PS. I had wet carpet in front and back. There are no plugs under the seats, you can check this without...

    personalised plates ideas/suggestions

When I first saw TRD I didn't know what it stood for, so I quickly added a "U" to the word so it would make sense. What I see here is TuRDMK3, and its just not real appealing... ;) I could have got BYEBYE, but I knew my mother would have a heart attack. Had to pass on that one. I really...
