Check for codes. Take care of them first.
What'd you get for your smog numbers?
Replace your vacuum lines, one at a time of course.
A sealing gas cap is a must.
Last time you changed your spark plugs?
Tighten all your hose clamps for intake.
Now for the harder things:
There's that...
The resistors are to help the ECU verify that the afm is plugged in, by changing the voltage not the ohms. Its for the air intake temperature, which for some reason in my setup the maft pro won't simulate accurately.
Edit, resistor values should be 2.2k ohm.
Codes via the TSRM:
there is no...
Plug in the HAC. I have a 90 and left mine plugged in, never did the mod to the ecu and everything is fine.
I fixed my afm ghetto-style= i got a resistor, you want one that reads about 1200 ohms, and i took the two ends and stuck them into the prongs on the afm plug. i'll have to look which...
Are you throwing any codes?
If you don't work with the ecu, it will default to 10.5 - 12.0 afrs and really crappy timing, very hard to work around under 3k rpm.
Look into the Throttle Response settings, with Enrich and Decay. That will help smooth out driving around town alot. I have mine set...
I wanna thank mr gaboonviper85 for bringing me back to reality ;)
He was correct that the clutch went out.
The speedometer did not keep up with the rpm gauge while in gear and in motion during application of the throttle.
I blew the clutch so suddenly i didn't really think about it, as i have...
For clarity, I'll have to get back to you about if the Speedo climbs too when in gear and pushing the throttle without actually gaining more forward motion. But i follow your train of thought.
I also own a porsche 944 in which i replaced the old clutch and pressure plate with new ones and...
Hmm well thanks I'll gladly try that. LOL glad i'm wrong, i'd definately rather invest in an upgraded pressure plate than a one piece drive shaft.
And yeah there was a burnt smell which did leave me thinking at first that it could have been some vent i didn't know about to let off excess...
The short:
I believe the rubber within the second driveshaft casing gave out.
The long:
If i give my car any more than very light throttle i can red line easiliy and the car doesn't hardly accelerate, hell, any slope makes a joke of the effort of the engine to keep the car in motion. I...
I been running the t70 last couple months now on 2.5" intake stock routing, waste-gate spring boost, full 3" exhaust and high flo cat. Stock injectors good for 11.8afr to 6250 89+ rev limit. Still tuning out the maft-pro a bit. Really fun to feel the turbo begin to pull around 4200 and then slam...
That is an amazing car. I wanna give you props on your build Adjuster, I been keeping an eye since you thought about stroking out the engine!
Thanks for the shot of the PS reservoir

Here's some ideas:
New spark plug wires?
Are the spark plug wires well insulated?
Minimize/eliminate spark plug wire contact to any other part of the engine the spark plug and coil pack. That includes other spark plug wires.
Positive that the cps is set correctly? Base timing is 10...
My CT26 had been on the way out for the last year but never did any of the turbo whine normally associated with death.
My friend is driving back from town and is rounding a corner at an intersection, lays into the throttle and suddenly this brief clunk and rattle happens. And reduction in...
The engine bay is rather restrictive if you've seen one, as bad as the supra but not inline 6 friendly. It's what makes clutch jobs extra fun ;)
Change the oil cooler seals ASAP, its the trouble that would give you BHG and RODKNOCK thereafter. Its a b!tch but ease of mind really pays. And do...
Yeah the 944 isn't a straight line pro but they're pretty quick. You can change the timing via the ecu, there's dip switches to toggle and they advance/retard the timing, not that I've noticed a difference myself... you could pick up that performance cam for 500 from 944online.com... i still...
