This is the most intriguing part about what you are doing. What makes me hesitant to buying/using a standalone is that I need my car to perform perfectly in ALL conditions (like what is achieved using OEM ecu mapping), not just the ideal. If we can get to a point where tuning certain...
my glove box currently closes, but it scrapes the plastic liner...I do know what you are talking about with the metal bracket, maybe I'll give that a go. I'd rather remove that then have the ECU hanging by a single mount.
thanks for the help.
This is for the guys that have used a Fields or Autosport wiring harness extension. How did you position the ecu/route the harness to retain a functional glove box? I spent over an hour trying to figure this out last night....I even attempted to re-position the ABS computer with no luck...
if it is leaking, it will suck in air when the car cools down, possibly giving BHG-like symptoms.
Have you verified your timing with a timing light? If not, do that first before trying anything else. Improper timing can cause a ton of different problems, including many of the ones you mention.
yeah, but those fit like complete shit.
OEM lines (both of them) are around $300 from champion/elmhurst toyota.
with that said, I have an aftermarket line...which fits like shit.
or a rebuild...
to the OP, you might want to look into getting some proper steering rack bushings as well. I don't know what the hell is on there right now, but it doesn't look like a bushing....more like an old rag.
the only real gains are not having to buy new hoses from the dealer...
tb/isc icing becomes a possibility for those in colder climates without the lines.
can't magnaflux aluminum, but you can do the block. to determine whether your head is cracked, you'd need to do a dye penetrant inspection.
a good shop should do these inspections upon disassembly.
