I have the PRofec B, wich is super easy to use, and is the same as the type S w/ the exception the chrome knobs. Either can be had used for around $175-250.
I used VHT on some door panels and console, and it turned out great. I don't have any pics here @ work, but I can tell you the texture felt like factory. Not stiff and painted feeling. I used matte black.
I'd say 1989. 2.5 v6 was introduced into the camry that year,...89 was the last year for the aw11 mr2 body style,....89 was also the last year for the st16# body style celica.......in the states anyway:D

aux fans are operated by the a/c pressure switch, or thermistors in the water housing. When either a certain pressure in the a/c system is reached, or a water temp of 210* (?) I believe. try this link for the online repair manual. has all you need to know :)...
It may have a dirty/oily area if it was leaking. Does it freeze up on you? Meaning start cooling, and then stop, although it's running? If so, sounds like an expansion valve or trash in the line clogging it from a deteriorating drier element.
Did they shoot it w/ dye and check for leaks? A...
I love mine. I run a 3" BIC DDP and a 3' test pipe w/ mine. Pretty mellow @ idle (I've had people ask while standing in front of the car ..."is it running?") but a nice tone when you get on it.
TSB only applied to Xb's. TC's seem to be popular for pin holes in the condenser core from road trash. At least that's what we see @ work.
