Pre- 89 were/are yellow ECU plug harness and 89+ were/are grey plug harnesses. Early 89's had a "grey" area (pardon the term) where it was a gey connector harness, but worked w/ some pre 89 stuff.
The only difference I saw in the parts catalog today was production date and MTM or AUTO. There should be a part # tag on the harness somewhere (near the ECU end I think). The only 89+ AUTO harness I found today that was not noted as "discontinued" was from production date 08/91 - and there was...
