Who has them, and how much of a pain in the butt is it to put them on?
I've been test fitting mine today and am not sure if the rear bumper cover needs to be trimmed off around the wheel well or not!
I know these are not direct fit,but I need some pointers from people who have them as to what is the best way to get them to fit before I start hacking off essential parts!!! kthanxbye

I think you posted about this before.

If this is correct then you are likely talking about the bomex rears. If so, remove the rear mudflaps if you have them on, and use the mounts holes to mount the add-ons.

The rear of the add on, facing the back of the car can only just be pasted on using double-sided tape. Some people screw it or rivet it in to reduce the gap but then of course those will show.

The best route to go, which is the one I would go with is to get it moulded to the bumper. This means the gap will be filled with some body filler and look like a part of the bumper. This looks best (to me), and eliminates the gap.

It sounds like you want to get them moulded, since you looking to probably cut a part of the stock bumper and replace it with the bomex add-ons judging from what you said.

Here is a link to compare for yourself, there is a debate going on within as well.

What I had to do finally, was cut,(ouch),the lip on the rear bumper cover.
When I tried to fit the cover on,with the mup flap removed, the origional cover would not allow the dam thing to fit!
BUT,I finally got it sectioned and installed.Being as it was a body kit, they did not fit as planned.
They were knock-offs I got,not origional Bomex.

ok i swear. some of u guys getting "knock off" stuff are too quick to blame the product rather than common sense or a little "massaging"!!!

not sure where u got ur knock off from but the mold would have had to have been sooooooooo fucked up and... scratch that... there is no way in hell u got something u need to modify ur car to make fit that doesnt need it! end of story! all u do is remove the rear black mudflap, and from the bottom up, SLIDE the bomex rear ON! i have done this on countless cars including mine to show how its done for those with new add ons, knock off or original.

You are probably the first EVER to cut ther body to make an aftermarket peice fit that doesnt need to be cut. u should have first come here to explain ur prob. glad u finally got it on but ur order of opperations were all wrong.

again i would like to make VERY clear to EVERYONE WHO READS THIS THREAD...

Original Bomex FITS LIKE SHIT TOO!!! There was ONE car Bomex used YEARS ago to make parts for our car and that car is owned now by "Jaguar" aka Chris here on the forums. His kit is still on and fits better than ANY Bomex kit i have ever seen. even Mike Urbano had fitment issues that wernt to his liking on his mk3 a few times with "Authentic BOMEX Aero"!

so stop wining guys about "knock offs suck", nine times out of ten either ur car has body damage and sucks, or u urself suck at the install or just need to pony up a couple extra bux to make it fit how u expect or want it too.

Even my authentic bomex wing fits like shit and has fallen off on a couple occasiosn due to the "Authentic Bomex Hardware", which is two "U" brackets which barely hang on to the corners of the wing from the hatch lid. a total utter fuckin joke. new stuff these days inculding the ones i sell at times have been improved fitment-wise and now use stock bolts and bolt locations to secure a tight solid fit, with no fear of losing the wing at high speeds!!!

again, stop knocking the knock offs. :nono:

The company I got them from was called Graphik Aero Parts.
No way in hell am I whining or bitching about how it fits,I understand that its going to need modifacation to fit properly,it's a body kit.
The measures I took may have been extreme to most, but it was only way I saw that the add-on's would fit.
They are currently on,and i'm making them flush with the og bumper.

heh. glad to know there is another happy bomex customer. but u are in the mind set thatTHATS how it comes weather it fits 100% or not. i have seen bomex authentic sides and rears not fit well at all int he same places on knocks offs. :p

When someone buys a "knock off" they tend to be 100000x more critical about every edge on the item not being whatthey think is like "authentic". im just saying, authentic or knock off, u MAY have problems.

I have to agree w/ Nick. I have a genuine set of Bomex rears, and the do NOT slide on flush. I will end up re-working them to fit.
