Did you do the engine swap into your 86.5, or did someone else? Code 32 on a 7M-GTE is the HAC sensor. Do you have the HAC sensor plugged into the ECU? Jeff

    Select Fit Crankshaft Main Bearings

Toyota is probably going to be the only place to get select-fit. :) Hope they can help you out. Jeff

89+ tail light swap which gasket do I use?

No they aren't. They might be close and maybe even interchangeable, but they're not all the same. As for which ones you'll need, match them to your tail lights. Jeff

KAAZ and Cusco sell LSD's not gearsets. You don't get gears when you order an LSD. Jeff

    Oil Drain Plug Gasket

Toyota has more sizes than just 2, but 2 very common ones, the smaller of which is used by pretty much every car for the last 20 years, which means that most parts guys are probably used to just handing them out and don't think that since it's older it may be a different size. It happens...

    Name My Rear End

There are places to get these and people who will bring them in, but gearing from Toyota is expensive anyway. You'd have to really want them to make it worthwhile. Jeff

The parts are not available in North America, you'd have to import them from overseas. Jeff

No, the crankshaft changed for 1990. All 89's have the 6M crank. Jeff

    Name My Rear End

There are far fewer differences that happened part way through 89 than people think. Pretty much the only thing that changed was the crossmember/engine mounts. Nothing else. If you have a Turbo, you have LSD. All Turbos came with a 4-pinion clutch-pack LSD. That is all correct for North...

Installing a new windshield in my IS250

My comments were not about why the installers were bad at their job. I know why they are bad at their job, and it is exactly what you stated. I'm also not blaming anyone, I'm just stating the facts. To read and follow instructions takes time and to do a good job takes attention to detail. If...

Installing a new windshield in my IS250

Oh I agree, but even if all you do is read and follow the instructions in the repair manual, you can do a pretty darn good job. Some people aren't great at following instructions I guess, which could pose a problem. Jeff

Installing a new windshield in my IS250

Oh I agree, but people seem to think that glass installers are some sort of wizards, and never try to do it themselves. Seriously if you knew the people doing this work, you'd realize: you can do it yourself! Heh. Jeff

Installing a new windshield in my IS250

I didn't open or close the doors for several hours after installing the glass. If I had, I would have opened the windows to prevent pressure from pushing the glass out. :) Jeff

Installing a new windshield in my IS250

Gravity does most of the work after pressing it into place, there's no need to continue to apply pressure. There are no specific common issues I'm aware of on the IS300 beyond normal wear and tear and look for anything modified and/or damaged. The 2JZ-GE is not an interference engine, even with...

Installing a new windshield in my IS250

Yes one side has adhesive applied, you pull the backing off and apply it to the glass. It gets installed with the glass to prevent the adhesive from spreading in towards the interior of the car. :) Jeff

Installing a new windshield in my IS250

Not sure if I should put this in the other car forums or not, since it's not really about another car, just about doing something yourself. Off-Topic it is! Over the past years I have become more and more disillusioned with glass installers. I've seen car after car get windshield after...

    3.58 Ring and Pinion

I could be wrong, but I seem to remember an even taller gearset existing at some point as well. Somewhere between 2.9 and 3.4, I believe I can find a part number for a 2.9 set and maybe for some other magical gearset. I'll look into that at some point maybe. Also a question, I've never done it...

    3.58 Ring and Pinion

It's a G-series/F20/FD20 8-inch/205mm ring and pinion set, it was used in a few things, including, but not limited to, the JCE10 IS300 in Europe. It is not sold in North America, you'd need to bring one in from overseas. The pinion seal that comes with the set will not fit the older pumpkin in...
