Hey everyone, I'm pretty stumped as to why my motor is running leaner than is should be at WOT.
Background info:
I was running an Aristo 2jzgte ecu before I switched to a JZX90 Chaser 1JZ ecu and it was running perfect.
Now I'm running a 1JZ Chaser ecu and it was running fine and AFR were fine...
i would get the injectors flow tested, but its weird how this also happens with the stock 1J injectors. also the car does have an safc neo, but i turned correction off and i reconnected the map signal wire straight to the ecu.

i'm running out of ideas on what it could be. i just swapped a 1J into an S14. its running lean on take off and under load. idle is in the 13's. i already tried a diff ecu, map sensor, swapped coil packs and even injectors. uplugged tps and still the same problem. so i'm leaning towards tps...
double check the board on your ecu to make sure there isn't a fried spot you overlooked. having more than 1 faulty ecu is common. did you ever check to see if any of the ecu's you have work in other cars?
hmm. speed sensor shouldn't be a problem. i'm running a 2jz ecu with my 1jz and i don't have the speed sensor hooked up. don't even have a speed sensor.
that pigtail from the harness is 5v power and ground for the TPS and Map sensor.
If the TPS is getting 5v power to the BLUE wire with black stripe then its fine. Also check that the Map sensor is getting 5v and ground. Is there any sign to you that its running rich. Also does it sound like...

check to see if the brown wire on the tps is getting a 12v signal or is a ground with KEY ON. it should NOT get a 12v signal with key on of course. and as for your question about the pigtail that comes out of the jza70 ecu, thats for the MAP and TPS sensor.
so if your tps connector shows 12v...
Right on, I had a feeling it would be the turbo seals. To add on about the valve seals, if they were leaking, it would smoke every time I take off from a dead stop. Thats what happened with my old 5M. Thanks for the info.

Whats up everyone. What have you guys used to mount an aftermarket water temp sensor in between the upper radiator hose for the 1J? I remember seeing some pics back then, but never really took a close look. Thanks.
