Or you could find a place nearby that does Ceramic coating and ask if they can drop the FFI into their Vibratory Polisher for a few hours saving the fingerprints on your hands! ;)

LOL, I tried to make that happen, but they all said that the medium they use is too fine to remove to course casting surfaces. I think that they're connected like the mafia. Bastards!

Mark, no pics as of yet, kinda just wanna show the finsihed product, but right now waiting on some adjustments with the FFI and a new exhaust housing for the gt40. the motor will look a little different then when you saw it last time to say the least but it wont be done for another few months.

hmmm i wonder if removing some metal from the back of the compressor wheel would help reduce its mass enough to add more life to the ct26's shaft and bearings in upgraded compressor wheel applications

Very cute Mark!

What's it going to be when it grows up? ;) <jk>

Im hopin he steps up to a GT35R... With as much as he's done to this motor, I dont think he'll waste it on a CT26...

Right Mark? :icon_bigg

I've thought about it, but it will more than likely have to come later. I've dumped twice as much money than originally planned. I wanted to get the 5-speed, fresh motor & the cold side accessories out in place. After tearing my motor apart I found that my turbo had too much shaft play & I'm not about to put everything back together with a turbo that might last a few weeks or months.

To swap manifolds, turbo, oil lines & downpipe is just too much money right now, unless someone can show me how it can be done for $1000-$1300. Believe me, I'm not too happy with my current hot side of the motor, but time & money are becoming a factor. I need to get my car on the road by the end of the month.

I can get a manifold for $130ish, I think Bigaaron has a wastegate for $165ish (I'm not sure if that's shipped or not, but probably not), so that's $300. What kind of turbo, oil lines & DP can I get for $700-$1000 that spools fast & can make 500rwhp?

if both wheels are correctly balanced, the mass/weight of both will have no effect on the other.

yes but a fair few people have had major ct-26 death / seals and barings not lasting with upgraded compressor wheels....

its a lot more mass then the stock wheel if you could bring it back closer to stock mass would be a good thing for turbo life and also spool quicker is my train of thought...

What will kill the shaft and bearings will be the PmoI as the shaft tries to slow and accelerate the larger wheel as you get on and off the throttle.

It's the diameter of the new wheel that causes this change and as this is set there's little you can do to "fix" it.
