additional sheet metal, welds, and body filler (the outer fender well was brand new, so it provided a good surface to weld to.)

Simply amazing work! I don't know how I overlooked this thread. Keep it up, and good luck. This gets a subscription for sure :)

BTW, glad you liked Australia.

yep, he can get better...

He's upgrading while he goes. Better swaybars, better finish (powdercoat is damn durable), ect...

His car will be show worthy when done, and I hope he does as such...

It actually isn't powdercoat - I used a combination of POR-15 rust prevention paint as a base coat on everything (once sandblasted of course), followed by a coat or two (depending on application) of POR-15 chassiscoat black. They are both epoxy-based paints that end up being tougher and more abrasion resistant than powdercoating.

the aim when starting this build was exactly what gtsfirefighter said, to have a brand new car....with some improvements of course.

POR-15 is nuts, paint an exhaust pipe with it and beat the crap out of it and it won't come off...

yep, definately stronger and more durable than powdercoat and is easier to apply as well...
