Well after a week of rediculous overtime and trying to get my valve clearances lined out, I think that part of the build is DONE! I ended up having to get a thicker shim than offered by Toyota for one of my valves on the intake side. So if anyone else has this need there are thicker shims available.

So today I was able to start putting this thing back together. You can see for yourself. Here is one I took of the correct position of the CPS once installed. I verified this with the positon of my running car. I took so others could compare as the alignment changes once the CPS is installed all the way. It jumps forward not backwards.

Thanks Dave. You are one of the few that actually like the 87-88 front end. Everyone else is trying to upgrade to the 89 and up. I plan on keeping that car like it is just because of that. Maybe someday I will have the only early model front end on the planet!!:evil2:

you enjoy throwing a wrench into my thinking process dont ya?

Well I got my fuel rail on the injectors in of course. Draped my harness over the lower intake runner to get it in place and started to try figuring out all my connections. I called Wednesday and ordered all these weird shaped hoses that I need. Im trying to reuse as many as possible but some of these that are not easy to get to are getting replaced. I figure using 20 yr old hoses is pushing it! EXPENSIVE! is all I can say. 8 hoses and a new accordian for the turbo, CPS cap was $128 for everything total. Im still looking for a used Cooleeze accordian replacement and HKS 3000 pipe replacement if anyone has a lead on one. I have a thread in the wanted to buy section.

I cleaned up a couple of parts today so things are moving forward.

I also dealt with a surprise I found a while back. Im more worried about finding surprises with the car then with the engine im building, since I bought it not running. The exhaust was hung up with zip ties. I hope this was temporary. I dont think they would still be there if the car had run with them
