I was told to have the flywheel resurfaced. That's what I intend on doing. I got my clip today, and I'm a little dissappointed. Yours had a steering wheel, and shocks. Mine has no steering wheel, or shocks, and the instrument panel was laying in the floorboard. The only reason I can think of for them to remove the instrument panel is so they could put one from another car in there to make me believe I have less miles on my motor than the actual miles. It shows 110,000 kilometers which I think is around 70000miles, but I'm not sure. Was your IP still plugged up in your car Josh?

IP????

i wouldn't worry to much about the dash thing. If you check it out most cars that come from Japan have very Low miles do to the cost of driving and parking in Japan not to mention licensing and ownership. I have no idea about insurence though.

Just make sure they there is nothing missing like on my Clip

take a look first to see what you have in the car.

There are many ways of dealing with it.

Doing the jumper harness is just a bit easier. you could always get 7M clips and wire them into the JZ Harness if you can't get JZ clips. I have heard and read about a few people doing it that way.

You could get your own Generic Clips and Change both connertors. Just need to keep track of what is what and what goes where.

Check around at Scrap yards. You never know there might be a Wrecked 1J Supra sitting there.
It appears that this is exactly what the previous owner had planned. I found 5 connectors inside the car. I attached the pics. The two on the right are definitely from the 7m harness. The three on the left are definitely JZ or as far as I can tell and from the engine harness, not the body. If anyone car verify this I would greatly appreciate it. The big square plug on the JZ harness appears to be from the 7m already started to be installed. Only a couple of wire connected in it right now. Also do you guys know the difference between harnesses from the supra and soarer? Are the body plugs different or more? Sorry Bob, im not trying to hijack your thread, but I know alot of eyes are watching you and Rakassan right now, so there is alot of knowledge lurking. Thanks again

as far as your flywheel question. I think I just reinstalled my balancer bolt back into the end of the crank and held on there with a socket to keep it from spinning

bob they match fine

a lot of the options might not be there... IE: abs cruise tems auto tranny...

for instance from the looks of if your car was/is an auto correct? thats the top thick wire that the jz clip doesnt have.

you pretty much need to decide what you want on the car BEFORE you touch any of the wiring. did you have and do you still want: abs? tems? auto tranny? etc....

for instance mark ditched all of those so his wiring thinned out a LOT.

if you DO want those options still then you will have to create wires for the jz connector if the jz didnt have those options as well. if it did then you simply need to match them up. and if you dont want them and the jz has them then you simple depin them and thin out the harness.

thats why i am so confused

My car is a Manual and so is the JZA clip they both have ABS as well and no tems

I wanted to keep the ABS. Its a good thing to have. i am not a race car driver. i'm not ignorant enough to think i am that good and that my braking skills are that good, that i don't need it.

i guess i am just a litle confused with putting it together. I'll keep looking at it.

its the very small rectangular one.... its prob the most important of the three lol.... theres three on the 7m harness for the body connectors...they are right below the 3 connectors for the ecu...

those are the three correct body harness connectors...you would need the three opposite ends off the 7m harness...and then THAT side(body side) off the jz clip to make the jumper harness.

here are the pics of my flywheel and preasure plate

i'll probably use the clutch disk from my car i think it will be in better shape.

Surface the flywheel & have the pressure plate surfaced too. You'll might get a lot of chatter if not....
