It looks like you did a nice job on it. I'm all about supporting the local guys too. Thanks for helping him get it done! Rakkasan has a house swap underway in addition to the engine swap!

'Tis is true. Not only do I have to complete my swap & get the bugs worked out, I have to move all of my household goods......By next Thursday. Jayson has become very detrimental very quickly. I need to give Aaron a huge pat on the back for all of his work too, he too has come through for me repeatedly.

ah the hole

How does everything hook up. still in the stock location for the ECU and everything?

From what I understand, the ECU is mounted in the stock location, but with the electrical plugs pointed towards the steering wheel. When you make your jumper harness, make them at least 12" (Aaron, please correct me if I'm wrong). Jayson made mine 16" just to be certain....

If the ECU Mounts in the Stock Location. Won't the other wires there also connect with out needing a Jumper Harness. If not then i'm glad i have not sold my 7M Harness :)

Not from what I can tell, the jumper harness is required, none of the 7m body harness connectors will plug into the 1J engine harness. You could cut off the 7M connectors from the body harness & wire the corresponding 1J clips to your body harness, but you would have to do the soldering under the dash & IMO you raise the possiblity of errors.....

What i meant was is everything long enough to reach with out extending anything.

I was thinking of pulling the pins out and re pining the 1JZ conectors. No Soldering still posibility of errors but i think it is much cleaner

when fabbing the jumper harness, IIRC, it should be at least 12" from connector to connector. Ideal made mine 16" to be safe since I could say it was 12" for certain. You can always stuff the extra away behind the glove box.

With that said, if I'm imagining what you're saying correctly, I don't think it would work. Pulling the pins & putting them in the 1J connectors would still leave you short...

No thanks, I hate wiring. Scratch that, I loathe wiring! Ideal made my jumper harness & Aaron/Jose can do them too, of course.....

Ideal where are you guys getting all the extra connectors to make these harnesses from?

they come from whoever is doing the swap.... they will be on your clip... you take the 1jz body harness connectors(car side) and the 7m body harness connectors(harness side) and cut them off and send them in...

oh greaaaaaaaaaaaat. no clip no connectors. Yet another thing I dont have for my swap.:icon_evil.There were connectors in the floorboard of the car but im pretty certain they were removed from the GTE harness. Anybody know of anyone who has extras of these things? Body clips , ECU, and AC compressor. You guys are more into the JZ realm than me, so thought you might no someone who has extra stuff not needed from swaps.

take a look first to see what you have in the car.

There are many ways of dealing with it.

Doing the jumper harness is just a bit easier. you could always get 7M clips and wire them into the JZ Harness if you can't get JZ clips. I have heard and read about a few people doing it that way.

You could get your own Generic Clips and Change both connertors. Just need to keep track of what is what and what goes where.

Check around at Scrap yards. You never know there might be a Wrecked 1J Supra sitting there.

Well i am going to try and start the wiring today.

Also need to get some longer bolts so that i can put the engine on the to thegine stand. The ones that were there from thebell housing are not long enough. Well for my stand Anyways

Does anyone know what size the 12-points are on the Fly wheel so i can take it off.

Never done that before so is it a good idea for a nubie like me to do it. Or should i just leave it alone

I was told to have the flywheel resurfaced. That's what I intend on doing. I got my clip today, and I'm a little dissappointed. Yours had a steering wheel, and shocks. Mine has no steering wheel, or shocks, and the instrument panel was laying in the floorboard. The only reason I can think of for them to remove the instrument panel is so they could put one from another car in there to make me believe I have less miles on my motor than the actual miles. It shows 110,000 kilometers which I think is around 70000miles, but I'm not sure. Was your IP still plugged up in your car Josh?

IIRC, 14mm. Get it resurfaced & you might need to have your pressure plate resurfaced too. If it looked like mine, shitty, then there is a good chance that it would cause chatter...
