Ya i hit 1,000 posts

lol

here are some more pictures

You can see that the Intercooler is a tight fit. You also need to flip the bracket on the car around to take the bigger 1J IC otherwise it will stick out way to low under the car

So here are some further pics

I dont know if anyone is keeping tabs on serial numbers of the engines but heres mine

1. serial number

2. Heat controler of some sort. didn't relaize that i would also need to extend the wires on the harness for this as well.

3. The Powersteering. This to will need to be extended to reach the connector on the 1JZ Harness. Just more things to consider when doing the owrk. If you want to get everything done before hand

4. The Vent piping for the gas tank. I used the Line from the bottom of the charcol canister on the 1J clip. It fits in place perfectly. I just need to run the hose from the bottom. I was planning to the hole next to it. but i think that goes into the frame. Don't know if it's a good idea to have it vent there.

i out lined the routing i took with it. all i needed to do is bend the peice of metal where the bolt is so the part was flat. Even was able to use the same bolt from the 1J clip.

I also bought some hose. all in all it cost me $67 for the hose and a few cheap clamps. I think i have enough hose. Plus i plan on using some of the old piping that is good to use.

I think i still need to move the brake lines from the ABS actuator.

I don't think i will romove the ABS system

I have been debating removing the AC. I know i will not be able to get the customs lines made for it soon. I know that i can't just keep ot there and expect it to work after the winter is over and the ports on top have been exposed to the elements no to mention the insides of the compresor and the fact it has not been used.

I have to modify the plate for the Ignitor since i was given a slightly different one. It seems that all is in order. I should have the car up and runnign soon. Providing i do everything right.

I will be able to use an inpact gun to take the nut off of the crank pulley. So i will be changing the timing belt tomorrow. Or at least i think LOL

I will also be cutting the Whole in the Fire wall tomorow if i can. I do not want to remove the dash from the inside of the car so we will see how it goes.

As for the Engine gasket set and turbo Gasket Set. I have relized that there are some gaskets not included in these set's.

What i have noticed so far is the

- gasket between the turbo oil return and the oil pan area.

- The O2 sensor

that is all that i noticed for the turbo gasket set

as for the the engine gasket set.

- the ISC gasket is not included.

- Throtle body gasket is not included

It is surpising. For the cost of the gaskets sets. you would expect a little more

On the same note all the gaskets are atleast metal :) which is nice to see

nice work Bob. And about using an impact gun on the crank bolt. I did that to and mine is pretty stout, or about 500 lb ft of torque and it wouldnt break it loose. I hope you have better luck. If nothing else, you can always try breaking it loose once you get it in the car and hooked back up to the driveline. Put the car in 5th gear, max out the parking break and pull like a horse. Much easier out of the car but not undoable by you and will save you a ton of money. Plus you get to be up close and personal with you new baby!:naughty:

Well . I created a jumper harness for the conectors to the Rack and to the heater fluid controller.

I'll take pictures in a little while

I am having trouble getting the tranny back on. I just cant see to get things to line up right and slide on all the way and strait. I get one side in or lined up and the other side is way off or something. :3d_frown:

well we will see how things go tomorrow

I think i am ready to put the engine in the car. I hooked up the PS line and have setup the resovoirs. I have the needed extra hose and created those extra jumper harneses. I already put in the Intercooler.

I should have the Whole in the firewall cut tomorrow as well.

Am i forgeting anything???

Ba careful, I had the same problem too, and I think that it was part of the reason I had to buy a new SPEC III clutch disk. :nono:

I will hopefully get to start putting my engine back together in about a week and a half. My cams are going to be shipped out today from Cali. Aaron has about all of my turbo kit bought and on the way to his shop for assembly. My fuel cut defender, motor mounts, wiring harness, and all of that should be sent out by wednesday or thursday of next week hopefully. I'm getting my head rebuilt Monday or tuesday with a three angle or five angle valve job. I've got to do some research on them to see if the five angle is necessary or even better, cause I don't know.
Hope you get yours installed pretty soon Josh. I'm still planning on you answering alot of questions for me, so make sure you take alot of notes...........:biglaugh:

i definatly have been trying to keep everything noted that i thought was worth noting

I forgot to mention that i pulled that think Cable off the clip that goes from the alternator over to the fuse box so i could use it to go from the alt cable to the cable on the other side of the car by the fuse box. It's only 1 Big wire. I hope it's enough.

I wish I would have taken the same route. I've thought about shipping my car to California & have Jose & Aaron go thru it.

As for five angle, you're not going to see much benefit from it unless you're flowing major amounts of air. Stick with a 3 angle, IMO.

uh oh

well i will take the pressure plate back off and check the clutch plate. or can i see if it is messed up without taking it off. LMK

Had I not takenmine apart again, I wouldn't have caught the damage to the clutch & I would have ruined my brand new lightened flywheel too. I'm not trying to scare you into pulling it apart, just relaying my experience...

Thanks Rakkasan. I don't know the difference between a five angle and three angle. Well, I have common sense and know the difference, but I dont know what the extra two angles would be good for power wise. The three angle valve job sounds like the way to go...........lol

Sorrry for the hijack Josh.........................
