it's a bit short but everything seems to be ok. I am going to do the compression test tomorrow

Does anyone have an idea of what Numbers i should be seeing???

160 across the board seems to be the norm.

P.S. LOL "don't touch the gas eh, vrooom".

Yeah Josh, I found the valve clearances for a 2jz head. Should they be the same as the 1jz head? If their not, then I didn't find what I needed. Hopefully someone knows if they are the same tolerances............lol

Thanks guys

I do have an issue today though

I did the compression test this morning. The numbers are a little low according to Mattjk 150 basicly

Now heres the problem. Now when i start the engine it revs up to 2000 - 2250 RPM and stays there. It wont come back down.

all i have done today is installed the rad added some rad fluid. Changed the plugs for some Iridiums i still had from my last engine. They were brand new.

I hooked up the exhaust and the Drive Shaft.

I checked to see if there were any codes. And i got none. All the Vacum lines are hooked up.

So i have no idea whats up. Yestersay the car ran fine and now today it is doing this???

Ninja Edit:: I Also realized that the Coolant i bought is a polyPropol Glycol (Prestone) not a Ethyline Glycol Fluid. Should i take it all out and get the Ethyline Glycol

Any vacuum leaks, ports on the manifold not used? The idle will usually be a little erratic for the first few times you run it. The compression being a little low is probably some carbon buildup on the valves, check it again after you run it for a while. Hit the throttle a few times and the idle will probably come down.

check to see if your throttle body butterfly is closing all the way. 2000rpm is a pretty damn big leak... that would point me to the butterfly. Also check your idle control valve... maybe it is sticking open. It is easy to pull off and clean. Spray some brake clean in there.

Use toyota red coolant, please.

Whats the best way to flush out all the Green stuff before i put in the Red

make sure your engine is dead cold, and stick a garden hose in the top rad hose with the heater on and engine running and disconnect the bottom radiator hose to let the coolant run out. Shouldn't take more than 1 minute of running. Then flush out the rad the same way. Just keep an eye on the fluid coming out and wait till it's clear. After that I would flush with a few gallons of RO/DI to get all the tap water out, and then let it all drain with gravity. Then you can re-fill.

well i have developed a new problem while i was eating lunch

When i go to start the Car. I hear the starter engauging and then All the Power cuts out completly. The Only way to get everything back is to disconect the Neg on the battery and reconnect it, and then everything is back

there are no blown fuses ???
