I went there today, and it looks like the framework for the driveway is in place, I guess they just have to compact the ground abit and then pour the concrete! Then i'll probably need to buy a winch and figure out where to mount it so i can lower a very heavy engine down that rediculously steep driveway

I'm still waiting on that stupid toyota order though, with oil squirters, my last freeze plug, and a bunch of bolts I need to assemble the block!

Unless i hit another bump (which I expect to, ie, realise i need another part and have to wait another 2 weeks on backorder!) I expect this to fall into place quite soon now!
suhweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeet.

Falling into place, little by little.

Not really sure what that hole is by the rear main seal, I think it just gets a plug?

The driveway is complete, the concrete just needs to dry now, theres no way between work and waiting on parts i'll finish before it's dry anyways, but it's nice to know it's a non-issue!

You can actually see, in the bottom right corner, a strip of the new driveway, that was the day they poured and smoothed it!

I'm not sure what's up with the stickers, I'm gonna send JM a message, i think he might've gotten the order mixed up, the first time i got em in a snap!

I'll get em tuesday, we'll see If i have to work or not!

I usually have only gotten to do about 45 minutes of work until I realise I'm missing a couple bolts (thats what happens when you replace every bolt with new toyota hardware) So I don't know if it'll be worth driving down for!

I might be hanging out with a friend of mine who I haven't seen in over a year anyways, so maybe the weekend...

Making little bits of progress here and there.

But looking through the EPC, both the water pump page and the front plate page, which I initially followed when I loc-tited those studs in the front plate (around the water pump) So I'm not sure if i got em right, it doesn't seem like I did i think the stud's are sticking out too far for the nut to even reach down to the housing. And it seems like theres a bolt missing right behind the front plate... wtf is that for?

And some chipped paint.. i'm thinking of hitting some spots with duplicolor hi-temp, not sure if it'll just burn off, but I'd probably just get the freeze plugs... Actually I probably won't end up doing anything :biglaugh:

I also removed the cams from the head, it seemed like it was way to hard to rotate them, so i added fresh assembly lube all over, and then installed the seals and used some right stuff under the front caps. TSRM = My bible

With the gears on (had to drill out 2 opposing pin holes since i painted the gear and it wouldn't fit anymore over the pins) It was pretty hard to turn! Probably almost the same as the crank with all the pistons in. I'm guessing it's just the resistance from all the valve springs, is this normal?

I know I'm missing on bolt on the right of the plate, it was backordered. But it doesn't look like it'll be a 10mm, the TSRM says to use sealant on the 10mm bolt, but there aren't any...

Thanks bro :)

While those are great pics Kyle, they're a little small for my taste. Today or tomorrow I'll make it back there with my parts list, get the fuel rail on, and some other shit done, and I'll try and remember my camera to post some bigger shots!

Thanks Duane :)
Progress moves along quite nicely in-between recieving orders!
I took it all apart so long ago, and moved to my new place in between, i don't really know what I'm missing (small parts, hardware mostly) until i get to that step in the TSRM

The reason i didnt paint the exhaust manifold Kyle, is the paint would just burn off. As time runs out, I'm caring less and less about looks, and just focusing on function. And i don't really want to spend money on getting it blasted, and coated professionally, Maybe i'll do it when I step up from the CT26

Made some progress today, installed the water bypass pipe, after doing a ghetto polish (80 grit only, looks a hell of alot better then the black grime and corrosion! I kinda like the brushed look, it's not a very noticeable part)

Tried to install the J Tube, but right as i was thinking "89 ft/lb is WAY too much! " I sheared off the stud.

Thanks to metric -> US conversions, they converted 130 kg/cm to 89 ft/lb, of course I'm a retard and didn't think twice, until i snapped the stud and realised it's 9 ft/lb :nono:
