Yeah, amazing isn't it?

Getting close to finished with the engine bay, have to start looking at getting a engine hoist at this point. I'll probably just have to rent a uhaul, rent the hoist and pick that up with the uhaul, and then I can load up the engine at my parents house, and bring it all on the uhaul to my house!

A little bit of catching up to do on the actual engine, abit of wiring and a few mounts which I'm waiting on some warmer weather so I can paint, it's been like < 40* F lately.

I still need to iron out the details of where to mount all my oil hoses, and filters, etc... But that will probably wait until I have the engine in.

Hopefully I'm able to keep this pace up!

Get a hoist and we can load it into my wagon.

You think it will fit? Maybe if we dissasemble it, the engine will still be a challenge though, I was thinking of using my parents jeep but theres not enough room, I doubt the Corona is much larger...

We'll probably need the hoist to load the engine into the car, so thats why I thought a uhaul would be nice because everything would fit so easily... moving the engine on the stand kinda scares me though... so top-heavy, but lots of ratchet straps should do the trick!

I've fit a tranny and shortblock into my wagon (my old 7m and r154) no problem, we can fit it. :)

I still don't think it will fit a fully assembled long-block and a engine hoist though! And I can't just rest it on the oil pan... When the time comes I'll ask you to get out the measuring tape ;)

I'm considering if towing the car to the engine might be a better idea! Really don't want to risk damaging anything

I degreased my R154 the other day...

Realized my oil cooler won't fit there unless I cut the hood latch brace, or mount it between the condenser and radiator, but then it's going to be even harder to route the -10 lines...

Finalizing small things here and there, pulled my rotors to get them surfaced, finished installed the SS brake lines on the front brakes

I also got a MAFT Pro setup, with the full speed density setup, boost control, and LC-1 wideband controller :D Time to take my wiring harness back off the engine block!

we can use my truck to pick up the engine and me and my dad have an engine hoist too.

Get some slotted rotors.

They are the awesome.

I thought those were b.s.

Don't I just want more surface area for the pads to contact? So no slots or drills, I'm just going to resurface the stockers

Oh really? How easy is it to move that engine hoist around? I looked into renting one and realized they rent hoist's that you can just tow behind the vehicle, that just leaves getting enough ratchet straps to secure the longblock & engine stand assembly.

Do you have a load leveler?

it's not too bad to move. we have something like a load lever but it doesn't have a crank on it just repostioning the chain. Maybe I can go buy one I'll have to see how much they are.

Might just be me being crazy but the braking feels much better since I put them on. I can't feel the resonating heat from the brakes either.
Course could just be all in my head. :biglaugh:

I can always rent just the load leveler, especially if you're already being generous enough to bring over the hoist! But it's really not a big deal to rent a engine hoist so i don't want to hassle you! Very nice of you to offer though :)

I'm also glad I'm getting things rolling again Luis, but there hasn't been enough progress since the last photos to merit new ones, it's just lots of little things that aren't worth photographing, soon enough I will have more interesting pictures to show :)

btw drilled and slotted rotors do help. don't buy the bs about it making them weaker when drilled, yes you will have to replace them sooner but not that much sooner and are you really worried about the cost of rotors with a full build like you have lol if you really are go with the sloted they are suppose to be just as strong as stock the slot is to relise gases
