I degreased my R154 the other day...

Realized my oil cooler won't fit there unless I cut the hood latch brace, or mount it between the condenser and radiator, but then it's going to be even harder to route the -10 lines...

Finalizing small things here and there, pulled my rotors to get them surfaced, finished installed the SS brake lines on the front brakes

I also got a MAFT Pro setup, with the full speed density setup, boost control, and LC-1 wideband controller :D Time to take my wiring harness back off the engine block!

You're just going to keep getting things to add to your build and you're never going to finish...:nono:

Yeah but at least I'm getting lots of cool parts :biglaugh:

Finished wiring up the MaftPro to the engine harness, I still need to figure out if I'm going to just cut a new hole on the existing grommet for the speed density, boost controll, and LC-1 connections (which I'm abit confused about the grounding for the LC-1)

Still need to plan out where to actually mount said sensors and solenoid

I plan to go with the hidden glove box installation for the MaftPro unit, just like your car Luis!
It will simply have a retractable wire loom, and then stows away on the glove box when not tuning: simple, functional :)

Got some more work done on the wiring in the engine bay, mounted the charcoal canister, snapped a few pics

There's a whole lot of dust building up...

Good work man keep it up. Let me know how the glovebox install goes. I had an issue with the mess of wires getting pinched as i tried to close the thing. The glove box install leaves you with a huge clump of wires back there. Have fun getting the ground wires working perfect. :)

Well I might just have to cut the glove box abit then...

Funny you mention the grounds, I was just reading about grounding the LC-1 on Innovates website, Apparently the best way to do it is ground them to the same source, near each other but all with their own connection point (no stacking connectors)

Except I need to combine MaftPro's purple wire with the LC1's green wire into one connector, but it still gets it's own grounding point :)

I think I got it down lol

Or maybe The purple wire from the maft connects to LC1's green (analog ground) and that's It, no need to ground it

That sounds like the correct answer from the reading I've done

Also still abit unclear about cutting the air temp wire from the stock ECU, I've seen diagrams with and without this, so I'm not going to do it...

I should really look into the timing monitor / control but I'm having a hard time finding good information about what mods are necessary

I'm looking at a couple of new locations to mount my oil cooler today, I still need to finalize where I'm going to mount all the components...

To be continued!

Looks like the oil cooler will just barely fit if i put it high right behind the driver side headlamp housing, so that's where that will go

The dual filter mount will go where the stock oil cooler used to, I'll mount it to the stock IC for now

And the thermostat will go somewhere infront of the A/C Condenser

I put on the front bumper to mock everything up, it was nice actually seeing it looking like a car again :D

Ordered my clutch, going with A2's hybrid clutch (new toyota pressure plate and ACT 6 puck sprung clutch) which should be good up until about 400 horsepower, at that point I'll get it re-pucked, and get the upgraded pressure plate. New PBR brakes will come with the clutch as well

It's time to put together a list of what I will need to get this car running! Some misc IC pipes or a new set of hardpipes (god I wish I had a band saw), Trasko oil filter, APFR (hopefully), bellhousing -> engine bolts, starter bolts, lots of oil, toyota red coolant, spark plugs & wires, a drill & tap for the IAT sensor, still need to mount the MAP sensor and LC1, wire LC1, add timing monitor wiring to maft if I can get enough info...

The list will go on undoubtedly!

Oh yeah I still need to install my walbro and run new wiring for it, rear SS brake lines still need to go on, and then a full bleed of whatever is left in the hardlines, and then of course go around and do all 4 brakes

glad to see some progress on the car man!

As for the map sensor I tapped into the lines over by where the cruise control is close to the stock boost sensor and hid the pressure sensor down near the brake booster totally out of site. The rest is all fairly simple you'll have it running in no time!

centralia?

Slow but steady!

Not sure about centralia, doubtful...

I got a new toolbox today, It's awesome :) Finally I'll have some organization!

Got my ETS Intercooler Kit today :D
It's hard to actually show to quality of the finish with the picture, but trust me, they are BEAUTIFUL! Gloss black powdercoat goodness

Time to go mock part of it up!

Fits like a glove :)

Still need to figure out exact mounting location for the oil cooler stuff, I keep changing my mind.

In the mean time I'm tackling a new portion of the car while I wait on some parts from toyota. I have 'a bit' of a leak from my spoiler, there was a pool in the spare wheel well, and some surface rust started to form.

I stripped out all the trim behind the targa top, removed the seats, and I will paint most of the floor pan, and get the trim on the bottom side of the hatch, the door jams if you will for the hatch... I hope I have enough 206 and clearcoat left from when I painted the engine bay! It shouldn't take too much paint...

I hope your clear is still good. A partial can does not hold up so well over time.

Hmm, good thought, I'll call up my friend at the paint shop who mixed it up for me... Clear isn't too expensive

Finally decided on the location for the oil cooler, in place of the AC Condenser fan, it takes up ALL the space to the left of the hood latch support

I'm almost done making brackets to mount it, the hardest one is done, the bottom left (using the stock IC bolt hole, and then maneuvered around the ac pipe)

I still need to decided if the two mounts up top, and the lower left one, will be enough, or if I should use 4 brackets...

They're not perfect but turning out quite well considering I'm bending it by hand, and a hammer against a wood workbench lol. The cutting was done with a dremel tool, fabrication at it's ghettoist! They will look good once painted and installed though :) I'll share pictures when they're painted...

I also have a RPS Flywheel on the way, as well as a starter, p/s pump, and new t-stat housing (threads stripped in my original one) Crap that reminds me I need to get the new gasket from Toyota! As well as spoiler gaskets...

I'm finished with the oil cooler mounts, and quite happy with it, they are all insulated on both sides so no metal-metal contact
Please don't mind the mess, and all the dust :sarcasm:

This is to show the clearance next to the hood latch support, it sure is a squeeze! I need to chop off the left half of the horn bracket and then repaint it gloss black, instead of that ugly matte :)

oil-cooler-002203.jpg

The bottom left bracket which I am very proud of, keep in mind this was done by hand with a hammer and then a dremel for cutting and grinding, no proper metalworking tools:

Intercooler installed:

And showing the clearance:

Now I just need to sand and paint them! And figure out where I'm going to mount the thermostat...
