Wtf is that thing?

I think I'm going to tackle the engine bay today, as far as updates on the engine the parts should ship out tomorrow, which means I should get them wednesday

So stay tuned...

I decided to tear apart the rest of the engine bay while I'm at it, and paint it with some Por-15 then probably rattlecan flat black

Heres a before picture:

And then later in the day

I made more progress after that, finished dissasembling the fuse block (Thanks for the tip Doward!) and some other things here and there! Front bumper also has been removed, don't think you can tell from those pictures

And at last, a box full of parts! A couple hundred dollars worth :aigo:
And of course I thought of a few I forgot to order, such as the CT's h2o gaskets...

Made some more progress today!
Soon I'll go get more work done on the actual engine, if anybody has any tips for removing the ABS, brake lines, master cylinder, AC lines, please chime in, I've been avoiding them but there's not much more to take apart!
I hope I don't have to remove the IC and the... radiator for the AC, can't recall what it's actually called lol

Aah, condenser, that's right lol

Yeah buckshot, I actually like tearing stuff apart! Putting it back together, well I just hope it goes smooth!

The problem I had was removing the lines from the ABS motor, i got a brakeline wrench to hold onto it better, then got some sandpaper wrapped around the nut, and tapped it with a hammer (soaked it in penetrating lube overnight first) One had to be massacred with a vice grip to come off, But I got it!

Now all i have is to sand, clean, mask, Por-15, then probably rattlecan gloss black

:aigo:

Holy crap that's insane!

If I've gone this far, I'll probably take out the clutch master cylinder, brake booster, the remaining brake line, maybe drop the struts, but no way am I tackling the steering rack and everything else

The AC Lines intimdate me, but I just don't have large enough wrenches for em... Know the sizes off the top of your head IJ.? :naughty:

How'd you get the Info plate with the Vin # off?

LOL

I Think I'll just mask it off ;)

Gawd i wish I had cash for the paint i want to actually paint the whole car with! I should price it out and try and scrounge it up... probably be at least $400, and doesn't that stuff have limited shelf-life?

Yes that is the plan now that I'm looking at prices...

Planning on going with 206, Black ruby pearl, but honestly, i wish there was more red pearl in it!

Anyone have any suggestions?

How much would I need for just the bay? A Pint?

How about for a whole car plus the bay, like a gallon?

I tend to use paint abit heavily... bad habit I know

Thats right Buckshot, i got the idea from you! Remember a PM awhile ago, I asked for your approval? :D
That looks SOO good I can only hope my first attempt at a paintjob this serious turns out half as good!
