Carnage pictures this is what I found in rod #3

If I would have had fair warning the guy I got the block from was incompetent in putting together an engine I would have had the crank cut and smoothed out.
When I first popped the rod cap off it looked like there was no bearing at all and that thin pieces were what I managed to scrape off with a screwdriver.

How did you tune for rodknock?

I think reading owns you.

Actually, sarcasm owns you.

It appears you have a laundry list of things to learn about supra ownership.

1. Never trust a machine shop. Mic everything and assemble it yourself.

2. Asking 20k or trade for a Mk4 isn't funny at all when you own a 7m mk3

3. Tuning does not magically make up for the inadequacy of cast pistons in a performance motor.

etc. etc.

I traded a running conquest tsi for a rebuilt engine that obviously wasn't done very well.

This is a point of personal opinion and is unwelcome to me.

A forged engine does not make up for a bad tune either.

Looks like I am going to be picking up a parts car next week for its hood. Running bhg 92 supra. Or I might fix it and beat around with it until mine is back together.

Alright rods came in and the engine will be done mid next week.

Also in the works/ happening now a COMPLETE shave of the engine bay. I am also cutting a hole behind the intake manifold to feed my wiring harness through instead of the passenger side to give it that touch more of shaved look.

Oh and a color change is underway for the poopra. I am torn between Snakeskin Green, and a metallic orange.

I can't wait to see your new inspiration. We all have issues, and you insprie me to get mine dont this month. Never give up. My car detonated and had burned exhaust valves after it was "tuned". This happend at 3000rpms in 5th gear when I pegged the pedal to the floor. The engine backfired a blew black smoke and stumbled. This happened afted I babied it until I installed the standalone to get it tuned. When I got a tune something went wrong. My "tuner" said he doesn't think it was his problem at all.

There's a surprise a Tuner that won't admit to his fuckup... :sarcasm:

Sounds similar to what happened to me last year! :(

yup picking the car up next weekend.

Engine should be done very soon also.
I got some inspiration this past weekend with the Fargo guys up at BIR sucks though that they wouldn't let the guys run all out due to cage certs at only 8.5....

I really need to get this done so I can make it to a few track days yet.

this is why I'm going Eagle Rods right away.
Nice hood by the way.. Twas cleantastic.
Now if it was only grey and not that silver I could have hooked Rob up with it.
So shameful to sand down and repaint such a nice hood.

Sounds like both of our builds are going pretty well. I'm picking up an 89+ 7mgte on Sunday, with auto trans (not gonna use it) and harness... only problem is the gray plugs and my yellow plug car. Hahaha.
