The whistle is probably a small boost leak. Mine used to do the same until i found all the leaks. If you think about it alot of air being forced out a tiny hole makes a whistling sound. informative thread though lets see a video!

Yea I am 99% positive it's my accordion hose because the end of it that connects to the turbo fell apart so I had to ghetto rig it with a silicone coupler and it started whistling after that. Once I replace those things I promise you guys I will make a video.

Does anyone know how much brake fluid the brake system takes or do you just keep topping it off as you bleed it until clean fluid comes out? I plan on changing my brake and clutch fluid with Dot 3 and brake pads this week as well as replace the thermostat housing and turbo inlet hose. If all goes according to plan I should have the car running by Friday, so I can take her out to hang out with friends. Also you bleed the brake system starting at the wheel furthest from the brake booster right? Like the rear passenger side, rear driver, front passenger, then front driver correct?

1QT should do
You are correct about bleeding til you get clean fluid
Also correct about the order in which you bleed the brakes

Does anyone know the size and pitch of the bolts for the thermostat cover? I'm pretty sure they're like m10 x 1.25mm or something

I think the bolts I got are the right ones the only problem with the bolts I bought the first time around is they were a little too long so I got a pair of a size smaller and another pair of a size a little smaller just in case. I should receive the housing and turbo inlet hose by friday or saturday, hopefully friday so I can work on the car drive it comfortably on saturday since it's supposed to be a high of 66 here.

Changed the brake and clutch fluid, will change the brake pads probably tomorrow when they come in and I attempted to fix my boost leak; however, the turbo whistles louder than before but doesn't sound like a surge with that chirping or fluttering noise just a loud constant whistle sort of like a supercharger. Here is a video a friend of mine recorded with my phone. Turn your volume up and you can hear the whistle. It builds boost like normal now and hits hard I will find out for sure once my replacement accordion hose comes in then I will find out if that is the problem.

Here is a video my friend took with his phone you can hear the turbo better

Yea I would have changed the pads at the same time but they weren't in yet and my friend already came over to help me, so I just changed the fluid it won't hurt either way I figure lol.

Well I installed the accordion hose I got from Numba1stuna and the boost feels more solid but my turbo still whistles my blow off valve flutters more but still has that whistle to it. I am stumped on what it could be because there aren't any other hoses or lines that involve the turbo that are leaking or anything like that. Could I be surging or could something be wrong with my turbo?

There is very minimal shaft play i will need to wiggle it around again to see if it has increased. It doesn't sound like it's scraping the housing it still sounds like an airflow whistle. Maybe I should rev it at idle and build boost to hear exactly where it's coming from?

For sure, I'd get under the hood and manually turn the throttle up. See if you can isolate it.
