There are two studs that stayed in the head should I remove and helicoil them or leave them alone? I remember seeing there is a double nut method on removing studs you put one nut on then tighten another one on top of it then that will allow you to loosen the stud.

EDIT: I removed the studs using the two nut method, tighten the nuts onto each other and loosen the stud, I drilled out all of the holes except for the one at the back near the firewall, the drill bit is a little too long so I have to get a reduced shank bit I see why you guys said to get that but I didn't realize how little room there would be. So far it is going well I already got one hole done then I decided to drill them all then helicoil them all to make things move a little faster.

Status update: I got all of the holes done except for the one by the firewall I am going to get a reduced shank drill bit soon and finish it up. I tried fixing my thermostat housing because that has a bolt that broke off in it but no luck, so I will have to use seal packing again to seal it until I replace it.

And THAT is the ultimate feeling! Fixing something yourself or that someone else could not!

I just bought a 2.2L turbo Ford Probe last week that the PO couldn't get to run for the last month. I'm going to have the same feeling soon!

Nice I kind of like the Probe it's in that category of 80s/90s cars that look almost timeless in a way.

Yea I could have taken it to my friend's shop and have him do it but it would be damn expensive I could have finished the car, test driven it by now if I had that reduced shank drill bit it really doesn't take long to do this.

That's ok, anything with doing is worth doing right. I'm still waiting to find a digital caliper to measure for the head gasket on my Supra, then all I have to do is reassemble it ;-)

Quick update until I get the reduced shank drill bit on wednesday, here is how the car sits at the moment I finished all of the holes except for one and I need to find a way to remove that tang at the end. Some holes I can't get a good amount of force when I hammer a flathead to break off the tang.

I didn't realize that the metal shavings could get into the oil dipstick hole and in the intercooler pipe, smack my forehead, so I covered them up but I feel I should remove the intercooler pipe and clean it out just in case.

Thank you sir, one of them went in kind of deep but the stud gets fully in there with the helicoil so I don't think it will affect the torque on it.

I am done helicoiling but there are two studs that have stuck nuts any ideas on how to remove them? They are currently soaking in seafoam and pb blaster lol. I got the others off by using another nut on the head end of the stud and tightening it then breaking loose the nut but that doesn't seem to work with these two.

Will a pair of vice grips allow you to turn it out of the head or are the studs spinning in the head?

All of the studs are out of the head but there are two studs that still have the nuts on them and I can't get them off. How much are studs from the dealer for all 7?

Tried heating it up on the stove for a good 10-20 minutes and still no luck so I am going to the dealership and see how much it is for all 7 studs and nuts.

Yea I ordered the studs they will come in next week but I test fitted the manifold with all of the original studs and the two that have stuck nuts fit perfectly and tightening it may allow me to break them loose. Should I use the studs I have now or wait next week for the new ones? If I put the ones I have on now I will keep the ones I ordered as back ups.

Never mind I went back to get the right nuts and the lady ordered them so now both the studs and nuts will be at the dealer on Saturday

My accordrion hose is falling apart, can I leave it off just to make sure I have my timing right or will that also affect the timing or give me a rough idle? Also where can I get a replacement that is metal instead of plastic or whatever or can I make one myself from home depot?

I managed to get it to work using a silicone coupler from my brother's old intake pipe but now I really need to replace my thermostat housing and still leaking oil from my oil dipstick, which is getting rather annoying now and still confuses me on how it started.

You can get a thermostat housing from your local junkyard or check in classified on here they are always parting out Supra's. Keep your head up man you are almost done just a little bit of minor things.
