When you're testing with the compressor are you turning the crank to bring the piston to the top with both cams facing up for each cylinder?
(just checking)

The Oil looks fine just dirty?

Can you tell us exactly what machine operations were done on the block and head?

yes i bring it to tdc (almost like finding g-spot on a woman) jokin.. sometime it goes all throught the exhaust , i unplug it then turn till it get in compression and when it get to the top, i plug it back and do it again, worked well for 5 cylinders, dunno why it wouldnt in the number 6.. + the 6 had 109 compression.....

ya oil looks just real dirty...

machine shop havnt unassembled the head, they just planned it to 20ra. they completly cleaned with acid block and head, crack tested block and head,i think they verified the head tho.. but not 100% sure... they homed the cylinders (the car was .020 oversized 15 000km ago) and they replaced rings//main bearing and rod bearings...

the engine has been completly rebuild 15000km ago by last owned (dont have proof)... brand new valves etc... (nippon racing valves, idk for other stuff...topline pistons...)

Yep all sounds good so far!

Personally at this point I'd pull the head and reseal the HG as I described earlier in the thread keeping your bud and his toy torque wrench away from it ;)

hmm but it could not be a valve problem? i dont want to pull the head, seal it and then install everything and see that theres something wrong , and have to do everything again :O

but didn't you say that the head wasn't touched other than getting surfaced?
it "should" be fine.
especillay if it was rebuilt 15000km ago

in that case take the head to the machine shop and have them vac test/pressure test it...did you double check your valve shims/clearance to make sure they are in spec? That way you will know forsure before assembly.

Before you pull the head check valve clearences.

If they're tight remove the cams and plug the compressor back in and see if it changes.

You can further isolate it by pulling the manifolds plug the compressor into #6 and block the ports to see if it's leaking by the valves.

how do i check there clearances?

ill do the cam removal and see... without the cams all the valves are closed..so if it leak its by a valve... or hg...

ima do this next week cuz im going on a trip this week end... but not in supra :(

Turn the crank so the cam lobe is pointing up away from the valve then slip a feeler gauge in starting at say 15 thou decreasing till one goes in with a nice slip fit and that is the clearence for that valve.

Repeat for all 4 valves and let us know what you find.

kk, ima do it and then remove cam and try the pressure test in cylinder 6, but if the clearance is bad i must replace what? and is it makeable without removing head?
