Stock fans work best. imho. seen too many problems using electric ones on street cars. not much benefit either for the change.Your drivetrain will love the constant airflow

Today Update, Didn't do much.. Got the tracking from Import Performance Trans for the valve body gaskets and they are going to be here Monday.. So That gives me plenty of time to get my other shit together that im working on right now, get more organized so when the time comes I can just throw it all In and be done in a day!

Got the speedometer driven gear and sensor rotor off the old trans that I need to swap over to the new transmission because it was an ABS trans.

My old transmission stripped down pretty much bare

Correct, however there are several pressure regulators, If I bump up the main regulator on the valve body it will increase fluid pressure on the valve body over the whole throttle range.. This is very common for them to do on the A340's, IPT bores out the valve body and uses an oversized regulator for even more increased pressure

Today I just redid my oil pressure sending unit and turbo feed with a new OPS as my other one was reading funky some times. Anyways got it all in and sealed up with permatex High temp thread sealant.

BIG Update!! Today got the trans back together, Just finished, took my time and made sure not to damage the new valve body gasket in any way during install. Having my dad help hold down the valve body onto the case was a big help as the added spring length made it hard to line up. Going to fill the converter with fluid and put it on the engine, dropping it in tomorrow morning!

Pictures :)

Speedometer driven gear and Speed sensor rotor swapped over from the old trans (Non ABS opposed to ABS) and also gear ratio

Extension housing gasket installed, Speedo gear and Speed sensor swapped over from old trans as well

Accumulator Springs shimmed (supplies)

I used 6 3/8 washers, 20x9mm shim on both 1-2 accumulator and 2-3

Done, Will drop the motor in tomorrow! Finished everything up on the trans and bolted it up to the motor. Its all ready to drop in..

End night 1:00 AM

Installing the trans on the motor, having the trans up made things alot easier to line up, Got the torque converter lined up to the flex plate first try, didn't even have to rotate the motor.

New torque converter

Motor and trans meet, perfect fit, lining it up this way couldn't have gotten any easier.

All done ready to put in tomorrow

Wow! props on taking apart a auto transmission like that. I never really taken one apart because of the fear of losing anything that is spring held with multiple valve lock balls falling out of the valve body (as i heard from somebody who took one apart and trashing it) Good luck on the build!

Thanks for comments guys, The trans valve body rebuild wasn't bad at all, just have to take your time and take it apart right per TSRM. Once you do that its pretty easy actually to follow the TSRM.

Going to my brothers shop to throw the car up on the lift and do some exhaust things

Nothig scares me like the inside of a transmission. Great job getting back together again with no leftovers.

transmissions are easy haha. just make sure to take pictures, use plastic baggies to label and organize things, and put everything in a row from first to last in the order it came out of the transmission. it makes the job MUCH more sane

I did not do that for my R154 and it took a lot of trial and error along with AllData to finally get it right. Now, I can take apart an R154 and through the parts in a box and I know it by heart.

That's how I had to do it with a TH350 in my auto trans class last semester. I didn't really document anything and just tore it all apart. Had to go through by memory and AllData / ShopKey
