Update!!! Got my A pillar from Lotek Inc. www.gaugepods.com Which finish wise is very nice.. There was a little fitment issue, But I was able to do a little trimming to get it to fit pretty good.. I ended up taking about 3/16th off the top all the way along the edge that sits up against the windshield.. It is nice but in my opinion not worth 65.00 maybe 45.00..

Just waiting for my water temp and oil pressure gauges to come (estimated delivery of this thursday) Stupid UPS..

I redid my fan wiring and relay yesterday to kind of hide it and more of a clean install.. Out of everything on cars electrical is my favorite.. Pretty much opposite of all :)

Things have been busy, shits been breaking, and I got a ticket.. oh well lol

Now I cant figure out why my car wont stay running something is majorly fucked up though.. Had to drive it home about .3 miles from where I broke down and had to restart it 7 times just because it would cut out while at rpm and die.. Here is the list of stuff to do

Figure out what is causing it to not idle and cut out and die while driving..
Pay my speeding ticket.. 85mph in a 55 zone

Buy a new blow off valve
Buy a 3 inch downpipe DM
Buy a 3 inch exhaust from DM
Buy a manual boost controller.. Halman or Blox dont know yet.. both are great..
Tune again on 12 lbs
Buy some Nitto NT 555R 245/50R16's

Hopfully I will have that all done by the time drag season starts up again.. we'll see

sucks about the ticket buddy lol but it happens to the best of us.. so were you actually doing 85 in a 55 or did the cop let you off easy??

No He didn't let me off easy at all.. I was doing 85 and his radar picked up 87.. He asked me how fast I was going I said 85.. When he pulled me over he walked up and said "shut the car off and give me your keys" I did and he put them in his pocket.. I have never heard of a cop doing that, thought it was pretty crazy lol

Update time!

A week or so ago I lost reverse in my trans, later I ended up loosing 3rd and 4th.. Went to the pick a part and pulled a trans out of a 89 Turbo and paid 135.00 for it.. It ended up being just rebuilt.. Have not had a chance to try it yet but hoping its a good trans and thats not the reason the car is in the junk yard..

Doing some modifications to the accumulators and valve body to help prevent pre mature failure with this trans, waiting to get new valve body gaskets from toyota, should be here wednesday.

So heres some pics of the trans, its super clean inside :)

p1662389_3.jpg

I pulled the motor and trans out today, started at around noon and had it out at around 7, didn't work constant though..

p1662389_5.jpg

Anyways, tomorrow going to separate the trans from the motor and put the motor up on a stand, its getting all new gaskets everywhere and the oil pan is getting re sealed as its leaking now.. Also going to check every wire in the harness and make sure there are no shorts or broken/loose connections anywhere..

Order from driftmotion will be here today with a new OEM toyota turbo intake hose and valve cover bolt seals/washers.

Ordering from summit the trans cooler and hope to have it back together next week sometime!

Update as I go :)

Moar updates!! Currently got the motor on the stand, Just got done prepping the block for new oil pan seal. Its all wiped down with alcohol and nice and clean. Still trying to get valve body gaskets for the transmission..

Going to re seal the oil pan tomorrow, pull the turbo and manifold off, got to get new locking nuts for the exhaust manifold, these flange nuts are not cutting it and came loose. Everything is getting new gaskets for the hell of it. Need to also re seal the oil pressure sending unit and do something about the sending unit being so close to the manifold.. Probably going to do a 45 degree adaptor or something along those lines.

Tomorrow I also plan to do a once over on the engine bay, Purple power and a brush and hours of work is ahead! I want a clean bay though :)

Current work space:

You know how I plan to fix the battery rust, I plan to not touch it lol

Today Update:

Got the pan all on and sealed last night so I let it dry a good 24 hours before turning the motor back over to prevent oil from seeping passed the seal and causing problems with it sticking. Pulled the turbo and the exhaust manifold off as Im replacing the nuts on the manifold.. I used regular flange nuts before and they loosened up on me.. Ordered Toyota locking nuts.

Got the wiring harness, EGR, Alternator, throttle body and IACV all back on and buttoned up with new gaskets and water lines.. Pulled the plugs out and checked them, burning nice still slight light brown so I put them back in.

Flex a lite 20x7-1/2x 3/4 6 row trans cooler is on the way from summit racing, also Valve body gaskets thanks to www.Importperformancetrans.com Anything to deal with Automatic Trans go to them! :)

Yeah it does :p, but its something I just don't want to tackle right now.. Maybe in the future, If I were to fix it I would sand it all down with a light sanding pad on a pneumatic die grinder down to bare metal to get all the rust off, then clean, primer and spray either just clear on the primer or color than clear.. Probably wouldn't even both with color as its virtually impossible to see with the battery and fuse box in place. Would just be to prevent it from doing it more

Update: Today got my Trans cooler Hayden 405 meant for use on Full size motor homes and 5th wheels towing 10,000 lbs or more. So it should be sufficient for my car and trans :) Its pretty damn big. Fits across the back of my intercooler perfect :)

Also got a trans pan gasket and new filter. Just waiting on the valve body gaskets. Going to start working on shimming the accumulators on the new trans.

Test mock up on the back of the intercooler.. Going to run it stand alone, going to just by pass the stock "radiator cooler"

p1665767_1.jpg

1 of the 3 tables setup in my garage right now, this one is dedicated to trans only. I like to be very organized so nothing gets lost or goes missing. Nice clean area to work.

The valve body out of a GTE A340 throttle cable line pressure controlled.

p1665767_3.jpg

Valve body pressure regulator on the right, At medium (factory) setting for smoother shifts.

p1665767_4.jpg

Crank that bitch to high pressure for harder faster shifts.

Just waiting on the new valve body gaskets to throw it back together. Once I get those Im golden and should have the car done in less than a day.

Today got the turbo installed and all the lines hooked up, Oil pressure sending unit on and everything. All new water lines to the turbo. I pulled the output housing off the old trans as I need to swap the speedo driven gear and sensor rotor onto the new trans as it was a ABS and out of a turbo car.. Im really getting tired of this ATF.. Its so sticky and annoying, thick and smells bad. I can't wait to have this thing done and back on the road..
