Your build is my inspiration. I have a 87 turbo parts car. The turbo has less than 500 miles on it...its begging to be used again! How is the Apex-i Neo? How was the tune without it? I have been looking at them, and would rather spend the money on getting it running first, but if its really that important/beneficial, ill get it before I start building.

Ill reply to that once I get back from tuning on the freeway.. Im starting to think I have a problem again with the Neo.. 14.5 AFR's under boost.. not looking good.

How come you didnt opt for a solid shim? I got mine mad for me. How thick did you go? I went for.a 5/8 thick shim. And yes more videos

I was thinking about a solid shim, But I talked to a guy who did a solid shim and started breaking torque converter to flex plate bolts, And those were ARP's too. He also broke Flexplate to crank shaft bolts and had to pin the flex plate to the crank to correct it. That was on a N/A, His trans also had the valve body drilled out ect. Overall I happy with the results, I would have likes the 1-2 shift to be a bit faster, but 2-3 and 3-4 is WAY faster than before, same with 1-2 just not as fast as the others.

More vids coming :)

I believe the flexplates breaking were with solid rods (those things make the car shift so violently) not shims. My auto is still holding up fine. Shifts really quick 1-2 and 2-3. 3-4 is like stock. Even barks the tires occasionally. It may be due to the fact im running a A341 and not a A340 but im not quite sure whats different between the two.

The A341 is electronically controlled Line pressure with a PWM solenoid I believe.. Just washed the car, Getting ready for the supra meet tonight and strip cruise :)

no the A342 is the one youre thinking about.

The A341 came in the Auto 1JZ in the early 90's. Its all good though. Nice cooler i couldnt find any locally and had to order my B&M. Get some vids and tells us how you like it.
