well i figured it out. dont try to use a supra distributor in a Cressida motor. all is good now.
took the truck on a shake down run in our local wheeling compound. started to mount my winch.
back of winch is about 2in from power steering cooler.
im new to this timing belt motor thing. will adjustable cam gears bring the power down below 4K? this 7mge motor is in my rock crawler so 4K is about when i start to break axles/gears and im sure trannys.
we have had a tig for about 7yrs before we got a 110Vmig. the mig is decent for body work and up to about 1/4in but after that i always use the tig welder. mig is nice for some things and tig is nice for some things.
thanks for the info. usualy when i want to find TDC on #1 cyl i will put my compression gauge hose in the plug hole and crank until it lifts my finger covering the hole, then put something in the hole and find dead on TDC.
just to make sure what terminals on the diag plug should i be jumping...
i own a 240sx with a turbo SOHC and i wouldnt want a SR either. to tell you the truth for the price of those mounts you could almost buy a decent welder, they run about $600. if your really into cars and modifying things then i suggest you buy one.
cant seam to get this timeing to 10* no matter how many times i pull the distributor. closest i can get is 6* and that is with it in base timing. any awnsers.
drove this thing on the street a bit today. it really wakes up over 4K:naughty:
whats redline on this thing?
i spent about 3hrs trying to get my ignition timing at 10*btdc. the closest i got it was 6* even with moving the distributor a tooth. the adjustment is all the was to the hold down bolt. did my timing belt jump a tooth or somthing? the engine seams to run fine, really wakes up around 4K...
damn 2min looking at the wire diagram and 2min with a dvom and i found that i didnt ground the white/blk wire for the maf. got full revs now and its doing 4 wheel dirt drifts.:biglaugh:
fixed one problem and now i have another. when it get to about 4K it will just die until about 3k then rev to 4k and so forth. is this a maf problem? or could it be that i still have the 4cyl fuel pump in it?
yes i got it running, no power on the B1 terminal on the ecu. all i have to do this weekend is install the PS resivor, make a throttle cable mount, bolt up the rear driveshaft and take it for a shake down run.
i built all the SAS brackets my self. we mostly go out of state to rausch creek to wheel. your better off with a selectable locker in the front and somthing like a detroit in the rear. my rear is welded and lockright in the front. the lockright limits steering on the dirt alot. in the snow...
lol its got a rotor in it.
gte and big tires you will need alot of drivetrain upgrades.
this is what my 7m is going into.
rock crawler i hate mud because i work on my own truck lol 5.29s on 38s with 30 spline longs in front, fully locked and 4.7 Tcase duals with a rear 23spline this...
thank you but i ordered one monday that should be here tomorrow or saturday. its a 88 supra auto harness with a jdm cressida motor.
i saw that link before but the guy is useing way diffiren harness than me. i also looked at a wire diagram for the engine and 4runner for over 3 days. im a...
all fuses are good and i have power to all the correct places. the brown and white-blk wire by the starter are grounded. i guess im just waiting on a different computer to get here.
the little yellow connector by the ecu isnt plugged to any thing. what color is the wire that might have to...
the two wire are 10 awg wires? if so those are connected. its the start signal to the starter. the motor cranks so i must have wired those correctly. whats that white plug with the red rubber seal on the inside? i was thinking that was the trans plug. i jumped two wires in there and it...
