One of the people I worked with at my old job has a 2001 camaro. All he did was call my supra a pile of crap, he wouldn't race me, plus he barely got paid more than me so he probably couldn't afford anything better than the V6!
I've looking around for new pistons to put in my 1JZ. I've asked plenty of places if they can get a hold of 2JZ pistons (cuz they don't do JDM parts!) and the cheapest the dealerships have them are $77.43 a piece. I did find a shop that could get all six with stock rings for $400 but I don't...
I've got a bunch of people getting all up in my face about how domestic cars are better cuz there cheaper!! Me with my low knowledge of cars, love my imports and really have no comebacks. Any help would be wonderful!!!!
Will it be worth uping my compression now since I have the engine apart, even though I will only be running stock twin when I first put the engine in my supra?
I'd be happy with 500whp but would like to eventually see 1000+whp! (I know it's possible) I don't have a huge income so I have to build it up gradually to that point.
Well, I eventually want to push out as much power as possible, so I want to up compression! And I know I can do that by getting a thinner headgasket and changing my piston rings. I was thinking of getting the 1.0mm HKS stopper headgasket for the 1JZ. But I have no idea where to get non-stock...
The only motorshops that I have in town can only get me stock parts and can't get anything for my JDM 1JZ!! Does the 2JZ piston rings work for the 1JZ? And does changing the headgasket change compression?
I'm replacing every single gasket I can find on it and in the process I was planning on cleaning everything! I'm replacing any parts that need it with performance parts. I am planning on getting new piston rings, I'd like to up compression but don't know where to get the rings!!
How did you guys take your cam gears off cuz I don't have the tool to hold them while loosening the bolt. And everywhere I go says there not for retail sale!!!
I was wondering if any of you could tell from the pics if my cams could use to be replaced? And on the side of each cam lobe there is a ruff spot which I was told isn't a good sign!!!
So, this short shifter should work in my R154!
