i had a machine shop rebuild the head and install the cams in it i just put the head on but didn't know anything about degreeing them until afterward but i think i have some other problem.
he was talking about a plastigauge. u put it around the cam shaft jurnals and put the cap on tighten then take it off and check how much it squished it and then u will know if the clearance is right or not little more to it then that but that's pretty much it
i have installed crower cams 264 and haven't been able to get the car running. i installed an AEM AFR gauge today and it is pegged out on the rich side while trying to idle. Could the cams have anything to do with this. and i believe this is why it isn't idling. it wont idle unless i pull off...
Well, i had a break though on it today I installed an AEM AFR gauge and its running rich. It is all the way rich after it warms up but a little rich when it's warming up. why is it running rich i didn't do anything else to it could the cam shafts cause this. And thanks for all the comments
i have crowers 264 and they will not run right so i have got fed up with it but i have a question i have two motors i took the head off the motor in the car that now has the new head and cams but i want to put the stock camshafts back in the head on it should i need to worry about journal wear...
will the afm off an 89 work with my ecu or they a little different both turboes i got the afm of an 89 turbo bc i think mines bad but i want to know if it will work right
the shop rebuilt the head so im sure he knows it not hydraulic bc it was completely apart i also have crower springs and they just put the head together i put the head on i did only line the marks up i thought that was what u were suppose to do i thought crower would have made them to match...

I found a toyota guru not to far from my house and they said they will degree them and fix anything so I guess they will fix that to I'm tired of working on it I've been turning wrenches on it for about the last two months so I'm kinda sick of it but I hope they can get it goin good
