will (should) equal with some markings on the according pipes. for instance on the 3000pipe or turbo. you will see what i mean if you special look after this.
prevents from twisting the hoses on mounting, you´ll fit them the direction the factory planned. only thing i did´nt know already is...
because blocks also aging due to the heat cycling over time. lot of people would prefer used blocks (if in good condition) over a new one. and second thing is the overall cost of course, specially on import engines.
the toyota mechanic would just order the SST´s or have it already in shop (maybe). But i doubt if he would make it much better then you if you do it on your own car.
not as hard as it seems. more a problem of the right tools, you´ll need some pullers, a press and some rings to press the bearing´s. would be good if you have a lathe on hand so you can make the things on your own. a friend or shop nearby who can make this would be also right. It will work also...
the r154 tranny is a quiet strong transmission. tight clearances are essential on a rebuild and you should change some parts. First the unbelievable thrust-washer, several ways to solve this. cryo, self-lubricating-coatings or make it from a new material. I used teflon coated stock washers with...
never seen a non abs supra here but if i´m correct there should be no rear speed sensor on the non-abs W58 cars. If the car was auto-trans before the swap the A/T would had the rear speed sensor but this is different on non-abs / abs cars. If so i´m sure that connectors would be different also...
i have to think about, the point with pressure drop on the already "low-pressure" oil-system on the supra is worth it. I think we agree on most parts, it was only formulated a bit too absolute for me.
Greetings to AZ, i enjoyed my holiday some years ago there. Have a friend in Flagstaff and...
@jdub: i won´t start a new oil war as a newbie on supramania (we have this also in every german car forum half a year) but just one said:
you´re totally right from the point of view regarding engine wear and cold starts. But that´s not all thats important for a high-horsepower car like the...
Would be easy to install a temp sensor so you can watch / log diff temp on real driving.
Fitting a real cooler would be more complicated. Would need a proper pump and oil filter. I read a thread here last time regarding pumps but thats not the real problem. good filter is essential and the...
No, Diff and Trans is not so big problem. Maybe i will install temp sensors this spring but that has no priority for me. had no problems with transmission temps but depending on car and size of oil cooler with oil temp on high speeds (not so much with the supra but mainly on audi 5cyl.). If you...
I use only Valvoline Racing VR-1 10W60 in the 7M-GTE. most people here take Castrol 10W60 since it´s a bit cheaper than the valvoline. 10W40 would fit perfect for normal driving but since it´s possible to drive a bit faster here in germany oil temperature is more a problem. In the 7M-GE i would...
hi all,
don´t realy know for what the plug is. We all (maybe better said "most of us") have this small grey connector UNUSED here in germany. I thought this must be for a JDM or american market option, but it seems to be something special. Should not worry to leave unconnected.
