    Engine harness problems...

I am not sure about 88 harnesses but doesn't the harness plugs that go to the body harness differ from 88 to 90. I tried a 89 harness on my 90 and one large square plug was different and would not connect. Of course the 89 did not have the white air bag plug. Also there are different colors...

    Proper pressure for R134a freon

what is the correct pressure for R134a freon. My car is converted to R134a and i think it runs at a higher pressure than the oem manual states. It states on the low side (the side i can measure) is to be 21 to 28 psi which i think is for R12. Shouldn't the R134a pressure be higher?

ac problem compressor is not kicking in

there is also a fuse for the fan clutch located in the passenger kick panel. if it is blown the clutch relay will not kick in. and as stated above there are high and low preasure switches located on the freon lines along the passenger frame rail.

hpf clutch disk and stock pp? dumb?

i have the act pp, hfp bronze sprung 6 puck, and fidenza fw. It can be a little difficult to engage smoothly from a dead stop. you have to start off with about 2000 rpms even in traffic to get the light weight fw to move the car. the bronze is smooth once you get the feel of this system. it...

cylinder head mods: what did you do?

I think reversion dams are important in a log manifold to keep the gasses going the correct direction. I ported my head myself and you can get good results by just removing the lip under the valve seats. I also made sure the ports were slightly smaller at the airs exit than at the entrance...

    p/s leak

the high preasure hose is prone to leak if its old. Also there are o rings in the union bolt on the side that the hose connects to. You can replace these 2 O rings with oem pieces. I think this is a piece that controls the preasure output of the pump as it has some kind of piston in it or...

Warning light on far left of dash, help!

No offense but how can you have 250+ posts and not know what that light means? It is a courthouse light and it means you need to go in and pay your speeding tickets.

    9:1compression

I have 9:1 compression as a side effect of my rebuild. I did not intend to do 9:1 but i did not get custom pistons. I am having my new sp61gt tuned with aem and 720s. Currently at 11 psi i am hitting 291 rwhp on a dyno dynamics on 93 octane. I will have to get the fuel curve better to get...

    EGR Blockoff a different style.

You can just plug the hole and even put on all your egr stuff if you want. It wont do anything with the exhaust port hole plugged. But it would be more appropriate for gixxer to have one of those hillbilly plates. ;)

    Replacing 7mgte ecu

It would be good to know what brand ems you will be upgrading too. It is usually better to use a matching plug that will plug directly into the ecu so you dont have to solder. crimping can also change the resistance reading of a wire and some of these sensors are resistance output. I...

Alternator/Charging system electrical help needed please.

when the brake out light and the battery light and i think the radiator light all light up that means your diode is out in the alternator. Current will flow backwards and light up the lights from their ground point. The alternator will also drain your battery while the car is off. I think the...

    SP61GT finally here

Finally got the sp61 in tonite. It took longer than expected. The dp is a tight fit. It barely touches the tranny support brace. The dp almost touches the wall; less than two inches away. The speedometer cable had to be moved out of the way so it would not be piched. The heat sheild at the...

    SP61GT finally here

been away. apparently SP did not know/remember i did not want a open dump tube. This was after the dp was made and coated. Tim put this together and had it coated again. It seems most mk3 people get open dumps but i did not want all that noise. He is making a jig that will do this a...

    SP61GT finally here

i hope the wg set will have a smooth control and not be jumpy. SP forgot i wanted a recirculating wg instead of a dump tube after it was welded up. They created this and had it coated again.
