it's done in order to retain any head-work that's been done, in addition to, salvaging a single turbo setup and wiring.
and the R154 mounts to any JZ motor just fine with no modification, just needs a 1J bellhousing.
the cylinder head flow thing was a myth to a certain degree.. there is an...
IR jealous.. My car would be in that garage everytime that I wasn't behind the wheel. Plus, leaks and other weather conditions from letting it sit outside (sun damage comes to mind) would be a thing of the past.
I've had the collection for a while and modeled myself well after the JZA70 owner's attitude in the one against the red R32 (kidding). that guy definitely had the stereotypical attitude IMO.
Lol, joking aside, tires can help depending on what you have. Though that's only once you're decently low with your camber set where it needs to be. I'm 100% flush front and rear with barely a finger gap, but it looks a little off because I'm running tires that aren't wide enough.

IIRC, I came across a front brace like that one once that sold for like $500.. for me, that seemed fair, but I wasn't going to pay that.
If any of your friends can weld, these can be made rather easily.
All of it depends on boost level and turbo.. One also has to factor in regular driving though.
As said above, jumping the gap from 370 to 550 is already decent but has been done fine many times. Now, the setups that try for 650s and up, I've almost always witnessed timing issues, singles/cams/...
Pretty futile attempts without doing something about that raised center section.. In FL, I still haven't found a non-Supra owner that likes the 89+ over the pre89, and I come into contact with ALOT of car enthusiasts.
Now, when it comes to tails, spoilers, and moldings, that's a totally...
