100 octane and 110 octane is considered race gas whether it comes from a can or a pump, and that is directly reflected in the price. Seems to me like it's just a creative way for people to exaggerate how much horsepower their engine makes on pump gas. There are a few gas stations in my area that...
I guess you are not smart enough to know that when people talk about "pump" gas they are talking about 91 or maybe 93 octane, NOT 100 octane or 110 octane.
You must not care about your engine if you run 25psi on 91 octane, or you're just ignorant of the consequences. Sure you "could" make 500whp on pump gas, but I'm not going to tell anyone to try that.
Mike just dyno'd a 60-1 ct26 on his new 1jz with my manifold and a Stinger and it made 300whp at only 8psi! As soon as he hits 500 miles and the boost controller gets installed I think the skeptics are going to be silenced.
But it's not going to make 500whp without race gas reguardless of...
I have a set I didn't use I'll sell for $40 if anyone is interested. I bought two sets of springs but ended up using the BC springs because I already had his valves and retainers.
Headlights and defogger will only lower the idle by about 50-100 rpm max, the only thing that causes a big drop in the idle is the ac compressor, and when the engine is cold.
I don't think this one is a boost leak at all guys, the way he explained it, the first thing I would look at is the fuel pump relay. When boost rises the relay switches off the resistor and switches 12v directly to the pump. If the relay has a bad contact it will do exactly what he explained, it...
I know we all agree that surface prep is extremely important. And for the origional post in this thread I wold recommend getting that welded. I'm not arguing with the chemical science posted, my issue was with Jdub saying the copper spray on a mhg will CAUSE head gasket leaks, which is just not...
IJ had a bhg because he was running too lean on propane at very high boost levels. The type of gasket sealer he used, if any, didn't cause the failure. At a certain point, something has to give. Reguardless, I haven't used a Cometic headgasket before, so I can't comment on those.
IIRC, the...
What's to say the breaking down of the viton doesn't help the two sealants bond together? They must solidify in some way with heat, or neither would create a permanent seal. Also, did you research which of the chemicals in the copper spray evaporate with heat or just exposure to air?
There...
