The tps will usually get slow before it completely sticks open. That is usually what causes it to only give you problems sometimes, and not others. Take it off the throttle body it and make sure the wiper springs back quickly to the closed position. It can sometimes pass the electrical test but...
On my 90 4x4 Toyota truck the SR5 was extra cab, automatic disconnecting 4wd front hubs, 31" factory tire option, and a sunroof.
SR5 basically meant something like "limited edition", and I'm sure calling it something extra was just a gimmic to increase sales of the higher end models.
This may be something you will need to test yourself. Maybe a sensitive pressure gauge, with a small funnel placed in several places, going to a hose run into the car would do it. I would be interested to hear the findings.
It's called a pull-up resistor, even if you put the resistor directly to ground it would draw only .0056 amps, .07 watts. It is only so that the tach sees a positive voltage, and the stinger makes it drop to 0v each time there is a tach pulse, making a frequency the tach can display as rpm.
I figured out something for you on that tach output that you will like!
When you set the stinger to tach output it makes ground pulses. The stock tack needs to see a small positive voltage pulse to work. So what I did was put a pull-up resistor to 12v ign and it works beautiful! So set one...
This idea just came up by accident, so I figured I would put it out there and see what everybody thought about it. It seems like maybe it's a little overkill after all the input so far. The original plan was to use ARZ's hardpipe, go out of the block with -10 to a remote filter where mine...
I'm not completely resistant to change, and I'm not the sharpest tool in the shed. I have not changed much of the oiling system on anyone's car other then adding a bigger cooler and a full flow t-stat, and shimming the pump on one engine after many people had good success with it.
I'm just in...
If you have anything to add to the thread from an engineering standpoint then please do, but condescending rhetorical questions are not much help to anyone.
I'm not saying there is anything wrong with the stock setup for a stock engine. But then again Toyota didn't design the 7m to make 500whp+ or turn 9k rpm either.
