LOL OMG, let me get this straight... Soooooooo you are saying that Toyota made it flat, so you are actually making it worse by machining it? And since it is long, it must be flat, and there is no way the deck could have a low spot. My subscription to this thread is hereby deleted...

There's a new bhg thread literally every other day. There's never a shortage of people who do things the cheap/easy/wrong way.

I would order new keys from Toyota, get another pulley and timing belt drive gear. Torque it to specs and you should be ok. I think you caught it in time.

I would have to choose "none of the above" The only option for me is a metal headgasket with the head and deck machined. I think anything else is wasting your time and money. :dunno: Stock hg has a better chance of sealing without surfacing the deck.

The right way to do it is to surface the head and block properly for a new metal headgasket. The poll really has no value. If you made a poll on the internet and asked if 2+2=3 or 2+2=5, would that make the outcome right? We can sit here all day saying what is the right way to do something, and...

Hey Spidey, I got a guy that does great work and he will do the front windshield for $125 installed with oem quality glass! He lives about two blocks from me, and he works mobile, but you would need to come out here to get it done. I need to do my car too, so maybe we can work in a multi-car...
