So, I knew immediately from looking at the top mounts where I was going to make the majority of my adjustments, and I'm also aware that the bottom latch can be manipulated as well.
Here's the question then: are the bumpers located on the side of the hatch (literally) used for adjustment of...
I never could get rid of vibrations (highway speeds) in my car with one-piece shafts.. it would always go away 100% after returning to stock, even after trying different companies.
OP: you won't see 600whp on 93, but you might see 500whp depending on tune..
I could have bought a mkiv but instead bought a MK3 and decided on the 1J over the 2J.
I simply liked the car and motor combo more and still do.. plus, I could freely mod the mk3 instead of sitting there paying on...
I'm all for this.. In fact, if Toyota did another Supra (LF-A argument aside), it could very easily be a TT V6.
If my 1J ever let go, I'd be looking into the Toyota V6 or V8 route. Like Ian said, handling would be vastly improved and the car would be quite a bit lighter in just the right place.
this is the car with aero on, unveiled.. the reason I didn't show the whole thing was because it was being featured up front at XDC/HIN Orlando. Unfortunately, I was part of the staff for the event and didn't really get any pics of it at the show.. I will comment on a phenomenon like any other...
I'd be inclined to agree with Destrux, but you may see the ~17psi sooner than 3900 due to that T3 .64
here's what I'm comparing this to mentally: a 35R, which is to say a 61mm turbo, with an .82 T3 makes around 450whp (maybe a little less) @ ~18psi/4000rpm on a 1J. I've seen this time and again..
it's an 89+ Bomex 3-hole converted to fit pre89.. Emission asked me to send it to Shine A.P., but I'm waiting to hear back on whether or not Ken is interested.
lol @ folks just noticing the water necks are different sizes.. anyhow, the GTE clutch and GE fanblade on my 1J gave a ton of clearance for aftermarket rad (just slight trimming, otherwise it was slightly scuffing my upper rad hose).
Friends don't let friends run Precision.. Google Precision turbo problems/issues. After witnessing a bunch of stuff at a friend's rebuild shop, I'd NEVER buy a turbo from them. They also do NOT use Garrett internals any longer (fact).
Thankfully there are those that have not had any issues, but...
I got rid of mine.. mech pump is cheaper/easier/lighter/and nearly just as effective.
plus, the components on the hydro can break and spew fluid all over the engine bay (old age). I've actually seen it happen multiple times..
The 3S is an awesome motor, but it's just a 2J with 2 less cylinders (oversimplification). It's akin to what a Nissan CA18 is in regard to the RBs.
A turbo K20 or F22 would be a better idea because they're a lot lighter, otherwise aluminum block v8. However, if you plan on trying to extract...
Stitch welding and frame filler can actually make these cars rather stiff.. square the subframes away with new bushings and lose some weight, then we're talking some serious material.
