I just did my NA.
OEM head gasket and ARP head bolts at 85 ft/lbs
DO NOT RE-USE the stock head bolts. Worst case, a new set of OEM head bolts is about $75.
I was talking about an NA intake pipe (this is the NA section).
We can do a 4" intake pipe for a single, but the APEXi filter is 80mm max, so it is going to look a little small on the end.
There is K&N and AEM for 4" filter options.
We should probably move to PM and quit clogging up...
Other then what is already out there, what would you like to see in a intake pipe kit for NA?
We already make perfect fit intake kits, but the labor is expensive. I'm trying to figure out a cheaper way of making the intakes. These are the things that I would like to see on a cheaper intake...
sort of. You can use most of the parts from a 2J kit, especially the TB side. It also would require you to use a stock fender pipe from a 7mgte.
However, unless its nearly free, it's not worth the extra trouble when better fitting kits are available.
Even Blitz has a 1JZ intercooler kit.
#1 Maintenance - It doesn't matter how fast your car is, if it doesn't run right or leaks oil. Fix all the issues related to the engine first, especially cracked hoses and o2 sensor.
#2 Brakes - You can't go fast if you can't stop. Make sure the braking system is in order.
#3 Suspension...
On a stock bumper, I would think angle mount would get more random airflow to the IC.
However, if the backside of the bumper support were removed then there is just enough chance for random air and it looks better.
On my old setup I had an aluminum tray to shoot air up to the IC core...
SAFC2 goes to minus 50.
I agree that you do not "need" a 2jz map, especially if you have an eManage. That is what the eManage is there for, to make corrections.
Sure it would be nice to have a 2JZ map sensor, but it is by no means required.
We are using a T70 locally. However, I had it rebuilt and balanced before using it. The builder said the balance was decent, but the bearings used in the turbo were no good and probably the cause of premature failures.
We sell the T70 completely rebuilt with warranty for $500.
SPEC vs CC we like the CC for slip-ability. For the same handling ability, the CC was much more enjoyable to drive.
We have a CC Stage 4 and a CC Stage 4 "ironman" both being used locally, so if there are any problems we will report them.
We deal directly with the manufacturer, so we can...
The clips don't exactly match up, you have to shave the injectors. However, if you buy the injector package from us, they will come pre-shaved and flow balanced (for an extra fee).
It wouldn't make sense to put in some old used injectors that were not flow balanced.
