In most cases you can part out your mods and have just enough to pay for a 1j clip.
You will be looking at $1500-2000 in labor and small depending on who you take it to.
You can do this without removing the rail.
Get yourself a set of ratcheting wrenches, with a flexible head.
If you remove the ISC, throttle cable bracket and other surrounding items, you can reach the top injector holders just barely with the ratcheting wrench.
Hits hard right at 5000. The lag isn't so bad, except that all your fun is ruined quickly by the rev limiter.
So with an aftermarket ecu, cams, and fuel it would be really fun.
If you get the smaller exhaust housing that would help. If you can get a deal on a kit, take it. You can...
If you found a JDM 7mgte w/ transmission, you or the shop putting the motor in can swap over the appropriate parts to make it smog legal.
We are big on emissions here, so if you have any questions about CA smog give a call.
I have an entire turbo swap for sale right now, but it has rod...
Not so much the Y pipe, but I'd like to see a 3" downpipe on here. The different between stock and 3" downpipe is very surprising.
The nice thing about 3" downpipes is that they are easy to re-sell later.
Wow, one of the few threads that includes a preface!
Well, after all that talkin, the car better not be slow :)

They did start on an accordian replacement, Ray had posted it on SF a year or so ago.
Just needs a lil simple green :)
My greasy fingerprints are still all over. I still like the clean look, notice the lack of relays and igniter, well tucked away.
first of all, congrats!
I'm curiouse about the torque as well. Our dyno was 422rwhp, 400 torque @ 17 psi on a stock 1jz, w/ hks cams. I would have to guess that it is the cams.
The sound is very subjective. 7m and 1j sounds different, having a cat and/or a 3" downpipe will change the sound significantly.
I personally suggest a resonator be installed as well, to keep the tone down, especially for those with no cat. They are less then $50 and have no effect on the...
To make the MK4 bar fit, you turn it around and elongate the bolt holes just a tad.
"trd" will be upside down
The bar might touch the hood though, so check for clearance before driving off.
To make it fit right, you'd have to cut and re-weld the middle or one of the ends.
The MK3...
