The temp gauge is independent of the ECU, but you should get it fixed or buy an aftermarket gauge.
Check codes.
The part you showed is the "noise" filter. I believe it is used for the ignition system. The 1JZ comes with it as well, mine had brittle wires so I used the 7M one which does the...
Bor,
Based on this guy's picture of his car, his setup is pretty badass. He said he is running,
XXR 521
18x10 +25
255/35 Front
255/40 Rear
sitting on saggy Eibachs
How do you think it would do with a larger tire? Maybe a 275? I don't really want to stretch a 255 on a ten inch rim. I plan...
-_-
Why in the world would you need bigger than -8AN lines for a catch can setup on our motors? 3.4 2JZ with a 80MM on it and it is running only a -8AN line with my catch can. Not a single bit of blow by and it is not vented either, vacuum assisted. I assure you, -8 is more than enough. If...

Low Blow!
Welded>Tapped, Hold on, my welding owns tapped, your welding looks like Dustin's bird shit. LOL!!!
Both of us need 2JZ when we feel like there is no real need for power, you know, a cruiser.
While you are there, why just just weld the fitting on? Press fit the weld on the inside.
Less foreign objects....:D
"Why not 2JZ Brah?" Would you rather be first or second?
You don't want crap and dust and what not in the baffling. You know, the 1JZ is smart, we have screws there, the 2JZ doesn't, you know, since it was the dumber of the two. :D
You have leaky valve cover gaskets. Have you replaced the stock phillips head screws with a 10MM head bolt? If you have, change the gaskets out. That is really the only place that will leak oil there unless it is the Allen head but between the spark plugs that are leaking but I doubt that.
No, M&S do not know 7M. You have have a standalone and have full control over your motor. What you can do is just convert to 1ZZ coils. I guarantee that will help you A LOT. It is super easy as well. All you need is a power, ground and signal.
Have you tried a different CPS? You could...
Just look what color the plugs are that are under the dash coming off the engine harness by the ECU.
Yellow- Good To Go!
Grey- Need To Know Year.
If the information under your profile is correct, then your 86.5 has a yellow plug, unless some douche changed the whole body engine harness. :P
Yes, you will just need to find the correct harness for your car. The 87-88 yellow plug are all the same, taking into account five speed and auto harness are different. 91-92 grey plugs are the same as well. The trick year is 89. Early 89's have the yellow plug and the later ones have a...
