Local MKIV guy has driven on them for years making 500,600,700,800,900,956 and then sold the motor. Same motor hit 1000. He is now going 3.4 and once again, MKIV stock mounts.
On Saturday, since the shop was not busy, I had to do the retorque on my motor. I was supposed to replace the O-rings on the oil cooler as it started to leak. I replaced the one that seals between the aluminum housing and the block but the oil cooler O-Rings, two of them, did not come in the...
All 7M's have the same bolt pattern. It will be a direct swap. The driveshaft will be different since one car is an automatic and the other is a five speed.
May I ask why you want to use the Poly mounts? The OEM MKIV mounts are great. It is what I am using on my 88 as it has an 89 subframe. They don't transmit vibration plus they hardly have any kind of flex when revving the motor.
Have you checked your codes? An improperly set TPS sensor can cause this when it is giving wrong readings in correlation to what it should be saying according to the AFM.
You should check codes, check for boost leaks, check the wastegate line to the compressor housing and what is your A/F...
The major head work is not really need. A mild port is good but the Comp Valve Springs are a cheap and well worth upgrade. I suggest that, a mild port and a valve job.
Your engine bay is a very clean and organized bay with everything still there. My catch can will make it even better. :P
I know the AIM Dash has lights for the turn signals, I am not sure if the RacePak does.
Haltech worked with RacePak to design this dash BUT can I be used with the AEM V2 which also has a CAN cable?
Buy the DM kit and needle bearings from Toyota and rebuild it yourself. It is not hard at all. You will need a press and some C-clip pliers. I believe rebuilding the beatbox would be better than looking for another used one but I am sure Grim can maybe recommend a good builder.
A little intellectual debate is no harm to the community.
Just keep the profanity out and you can argue your points, with proof, if applicable, so we all can gain some knowledge.
It's a common thing over here in the East Coast. Everyone saves up for a JZ swap. Most of them are high school kids who well, for the most part, just want to hear "Pssshhh."
Now that whole scene is being over populated by the "flush" crew since it is cheaper to cut springs than to build a car.
I like them, they make me laugh.
You should get some HKS or BC cams. You will like them a lot and you will notice the difference!
Usually, if you have been around Supras long enough you can tell between the exhaust notes of a JZ and 7M. The JZ is at 8,000 RPM is bliss. It's like a very deep...
I am going with the ACT 6 puck.
My next project will be a 240SX. S14 with the Kouki front. The motor choice will be either SR/RB/JZ. I am not sure yet, but I will post it up in this thread though. Well.....until I get to the motor part. Going to keep that a secret as I have local snoopers. :P
Thanks man.
The cams really make a difference BUT when the standalone goes in, I'll really see what it does up top.
I had an Autozone stock clutch as I was planning using it during the break-in period but I just left it in there. Boost started to punish it and the burnout just worsened it. I...
My QSV does not choke the turbo up top. My car will pull all the way to redline very hard. I have it operating just on the wastegate actuator. I currently do not have the MAC solenoid hooked up as that will go in after the fuel system since it will need the standalone to control it.
The...
Great build and fabrication skills!
One thing, how do you know how to make make strut towers and things like that. Measure all the angles so they are right so the vehicle runs straight?
I know here in the states there is a good trade school named UTI and Wyotech. A lot of people that go...
