Pwr is the only quality brand anymore. Fluidyne is barely better then cheap eBay radiators anymore, koyo is a overpriced mishimoto. Really the mishimoto is best bang for Buck outside of pwr or if you are one of the few with a Griffin radiator. Sent from my X10i using Tapatalk

The stud has a place for a allen wrench to hold it still- if that's stripped out and you have new ones, cut the nuts off.

What is the outside temperature? Any codes when you check? I would be more suspect of a potential faulty coolant temperature switch or cold start injector problem.
