Bout-dam-time... sheesh! hahaha...
I have thought about using one of those hot rod wiring harness for a full gut and finish, how is it working with your engine harness?
Thanks, Its appreciated. I'll PM you.
Nope, Its long gone, sold it a while back along with the spare W58... I'm regretting it a little now though, I need another.
Yesterday I dove into the Supra again, a local wanted to buy the moldings off my car. Since I had a complete set waiting to go on I obliged. Took me all day, but I had a lot more than moldings to swap/replace. I'm happy with the end result, very subtle, and thats how I like it.
After I tore...
Few questions to help diagnose the issue:
Is the check engine light turning on when the key is in the "ON" position?
Is the fuel pump kicking on?
Is the EFI main relay in the engine bay fuse box working?
Is the EFI fuse in the the same fuse box good?
Is the 7.5amp IGN fuse in the...
It was in the rear, it was carbureted too. Had a huge carb, can't remember if it was pre or post turbo though. The intercooler was above the engine with a "scoop" to pull air down into it. It sounded like no other engine I have ever heard. Blip blip blip blip -turbo spool... haha.
There was a rotary turbo bug down at VA beach last year, it was said that it lifts the front wheels off the ground.
That = bad ass
I like the old bugs too, I'd own one if I found a good deal.
I have had somthing similar happen, it was the battery terminals. They looked tight, the kinda felt tight, but they werent, and there was some corosion on the posts. Clean them real good, and reinstall them or get new terminals.
Yup, targa would be very cool!
I also agree better deals will be had after a year or two, BUT, I can see so many of these cars are going to be broke in incorrectly and abused in the first few years. This is the first "internet" car I have seen, where it has thousands of followers before its...
I sat in one at the local dealership, the seat was amazing. All the controls were very close and readily accessible, and I could operate the clutch with my boots on. I opened the hood too, the engine is really tiny, its wide as hell, about as wide as my 1UZ, but still tiny. The photos on the...
The car is awesome!! I have been wanting to do a old 40's or 50's car.
Your cheapest route for an engine would probably be a SBC with a set of aluminum heads, intake manifold, nice carb, decent cam, lifters, and rocker arms. But tuning may be an issue between elevation changes. If EFI is...
Not true, for MA70 swaps on the SC connector IJ1 pre 96 has less power wires for the electrical engine components. I had wired my jumper harness for pre 96 and my harness is from a 96, well it didn't run. Thats because some of the engine harness was not getting power. If you pull connectors from...
Thanks, Put down 209HP 223FT LBS OF Torque.
Thanks Fred! For a temporary lift I put thoses rubber bumpers we removed on the weather stripping below the low points and it lifted them up a little and its going to keep the hood from bowing any more. I just picked some aluminum and stick on...
Yea, I was just thinking about that. A little tab on the housing to the drivers and passenger side rack mounts. Gonna see if I cant fab some cardboard templates of something useful.
