I drove the car with the new setup today; initial impressions are pretty amazing! For now I'm only on wastegate spring 10psi and the spool valve plumbed directly into boost so it begins to open at 5psi... and spool is still very fast! Much faster than my 57trim ct26 was! 1st gear hits 10psi in...
Why run a 4:30? I tried a 4:10 once and didn't like it and put my 3.93 back in. I found the taller gears put more load on the turbo so it spooled better, plus I spent more time under boost in each gear. I found the 4:10 ran out of gear too quickly.
Nice to see those energy bushings installed. I noticed you pulled and brought your suspension parts in to have the old bushings pressed out? I was wondering if I could do the same thing. Can it be done with hand tools? I don't have an impact gun.
Looks good man! Looks like you're not too far from finishing. Will it be ready for the summer? How much power are you going to push on your stock internals?
Just wanted to confirm: can the poly bushings be installed with the rack in the car? What exactly needs to be taken apart? Just wondering if this is worth the trouble of doing it by myself.
P.s. I recently replaced the intermediate steering shaft, and that was the worst job ever! Had to cut the...
Yep, this turbo can be ordered with a Tial or T3 turbine, and would have been much easier. But to use the SP valve, the T4 was the only option for a divided turbine.
Zazzn: Don't worry, I'm on top of it ;)
Also! I thought I was the only Supra to try one of these HTA billet turbos, but I found...
In case you guys don't visit the NorthWest section, the annual Centralia meet is coming up. It's about a 3-4 hour drive from Vancouver and there should be well over 50 Supras.

The spool valve actually made it easier, by lifting the turbo up like a 3/4" spacer would. In the pic below you can see that there would have been no room at all for the oil drain normally. The problem with these turbos is the center is tucked too far into the turbine. Pretty common for most...
Those are some amazing numbers! I just finished installing the next-size up HTA GT35 turbo, the HTA3586. It is both exciting and scary to think it could put out more power than that!
I just finished a custom GT35r install. The amount of time and labour and cost was dramatically more than a bolt-on would have been. I really see the merit of these boss kits now!! I posted a lot of pics and you can see how much trouble it was at the end of this thread...

I did a bit of a write up at the time here: http://www.supramania.com/forums/showthread.php?t=50058
This install was brutal. But after a huge number of hours, I have finally figured out what turned out to be the ultimate Rubic's cube puzzle of a turbo kit. Here are some pics and details!
I picked up a used undivided ETS 321 stainless T4 manifold which only required me to modify the length...
