The Flex-a-lite fan conotroller boxes are garbage. Twice on my car, the fans pulled enough current to melt the solder on the circuit board and have the terminal pull right off. I ended up modding the box with a separate relay.

Is it safe to remove the damper on my 87? What difference would it make to not have it? My IC pipe is currently getting pinched between it and my Whiteline sway bar. Also what is the purpose of the damper? To make the wheel not turn sharply over bumps or uneven road? My car has this problem.
