Also, what is the approx. ideal Air/fuel ratio when spraying 50/50 Methanol/water? The article below says that the stoich point of gasoline is 14.7:1, or 14.7 parts oxygen to one part fuel and the stoich point of methanol is 6.4:1...
I was thinking I would also need a solenoid but luckily the AEM kit comes with an inline check valve that negates the need for it (when before the TB).
I wouldn't have it any other way either. Don't have to be a fool to want your shit foolproof!
Did you use the Snow 2.5 gal res? Send me some...
Kudos for your persistance dude! Gotta love the TQ of a 3.0L engine.
What ended up happening with the Caddy? Want to hear a crazy coincidence? The very next day Duane sprung a transmission line leak and pulled over on the on ramp from 99 to Hwy 91, almost right across from where you stopped.
I came up with a solution to the stalling and popping for my car, and did a write-up.
Works great: http://www.supramania.com/forums/showthread.php?t=96555
I was actually considering using the stock windshield washer tank, and mounting the pump upside down right into the metal plate the tank is mounted to. But I opted for a larger trunk mounted tank. Will post pics soon
I'm in the middle of installing an AEM water/methanol kit, and it says you can place the nozzle farther away from the throttle and manifold for an "enhanced cooling effect". I will likely install the nozzle into my HKS 3000 pipe right after the blow off valve(to avoid spraying mist out of the...
It's not pretty, but I wrapped my crossover intake pipe with a layer of fiberglass header wrap and then a layer of reflective DEI Cool Tape on top of that.
I've mentioned it before, but I also installed my air filter under the headlight to pull in cold air from outside the engine bay. Ian, want...
I noticed a few pinhole leaks in the same areas on my Koyo rad. When taking the top mounting brackets off, it seems that the rubber insulator isn't thick enough to prevent the bottom corners of the metal brackets from touching the rad, grounding it electrically.
For those of you running these...
Reading the manual over and over, I can't find any info on how to set the boost for each gear on my AVCR. I can set start duty, and feedback for each gear, but not actual boost? :1zhelp: Manual: http://www.apexi-usa.com/content/pdf6115.pdf
It can be done! Just foolishly put every single paycheck into the car for 2 years, and spend all your free time working on it ;)
My lower back sure isn't!
Latest goodies to arrive. Boxes of new stuff still get me excited, despite dreading the install!
Re-read my post. I was saying that I am running stock 87 engine mounts but the BIC damper itself has poly bushings, and limits engine flex. I noticed no increase in engine vibration. Might be an idea to have one adapted to your 2J ;) Or maybe pay Ron R. to make one like his? He has a really...
Good thing you wired it to a separate relay like that. FAL's instructions say to wire the fans directly to the controller, which pulls huge current and heats up the terminal which 'unsolders' itself from the damn circuit board! (resulting in instant overheat and monkeying on the side of the road...
I'm running the BIC poly engine damper with stock engine mounts, and it still feels smooth. Perhaps he could custom make one for you? I think it might do quite well to limit the engine movement; it is beefy.
