Why couldn't you lean/tune out the larger nozzle?
I'm guessing that you might find a bit of top end choke with the .81, but most people feel that to go larger than that makes the lag far too much of a compromise. Only a small handful of guys like Ian and Geoff from Full Race prefer the huge...
The AEM control module does all the PWMing and progressive control and I'm running the largest jet in the kit which is 550ml/mn. Even with spray starting at 5psi and full by 12psi, the engine runs great and has not had any misfire at all.
J: the dyno shop seemed to think that the larger jet...
The AEM meth kit seems like a great setup, and is well made. When this system is on and ready, you can hear a slight hum from the pump, so I think it is keeping the line primed and ready with some pressure against the check valve. When I put pressure to the boost sensor, the fluid sprays...
Not sure what you mean here. You cranked up the start duty in 1st and 2nd?
I ended up setting the start duty in 1st gear to -17% and it works great! Limits 1st gear to 12psi so it doesn't spin, just lunges forward nicely with a 'lil squeal! :biglaugh: This feature is a must-have for anyone...
I've read that methanol is about 75% the weight of water, and should be mixed by mass. But it would probably work either way. I just bought a case of the Snow boost juice and called it a day ;)
This AEM kit has got to be the best $350 I've spent in a long time. It gets rid of all detonation...
That's the one. There are dozens of vendors selling them on eBay. It's a popular kit, possibly because of the failsafe feature. If it runs out fluid or something wrong is detected with the pump, the module can trigger a relay that you wire inline with your boost controller solenoid so it...
It made 30 more hp at 24psi, and we ended up settling on 22psi with 2 degrees less base timing to make the 389 number. I'm not too concerned about the mustang dyno numbers. On a Dyno Dynamics I dyno'd 393rwhp on my 57 trim ct, and the car currently feels dramatically faster. Plus as Duane said...
Not sure if you are planning to run a methanol kit, but holy shit am I glad I did! I'm running 20-22psi daily on pump gas and my car seriously hauls ass now. :D If you're gonna run stock pistons like me, you gotta keep 'em cool.
I got the AEM kit off eBay, only $350 and it works perfectly.
Yep. The quick spool valve is doing what it's supposed to!
We actually made it richer around 5000rpm because that's were it was starting to ping at 23-24 psi with 2 degrees higher timing.
I posted dynos at the end of this thread:http://www.supramania.com/forums/showthread.php?t=86561
I used a Snow Performance 2.5gal tank mounted in the hatch. Good thing too, I went through almost 2 gallons of fluid between several dyno pulls and drag racing.
After upgrading from my 57 trim CT to the billet GT35r, the difference is enourmous. Particularly in top-end power, where the CT would fade really early because of the small turbine. If you go with a JT, Boss, or T4 turbo, you will gain a much better power curve.
A standalone and professional...
Please let us know if you find the cooling system problem. I'm suddenly having similar temp spikes that last 5-10 minutes, then vanish completely without explanation.
I mixed my own fluid for the dyno, but found a local auto parts store that sells the Snow Performance premixed 50/50 Boost Juice for a reasonable price.
Was able to boost up to 22psi/450rwhp on pump gas at the dyno yesterday :)
This is why I opted to leave the PCV plumbed into the throttle body ;)
Flames? Probably not, the goal here is cool pistons and safety! I now have 50+ more rwhp than Tejon's Mk4 ;)
On the street, the spool is faster than the dyno sheet shows, perhaps because of the dyno load? Because I know that I hit 15psi at 3600 in 4th gear. Due to problems getting a cheap hobbs...
I got the AEM water/methanol kit installed yesterday and did some dyno tuning today to aim for 11.5 AFR's with higher boost. On 94 octane pump gas, we got as high as 24psi and they detected light pinging around the 5000 rpm tourque peak, so we backed off the base timing 2 degrees and ended up...

Got a link to the details about the AEM check valve restriction? I just tried blowing through mine and it took 20psi of air flow to move some air through the thing. I couldn't blow any air through with my mouth at all! My turbo spools so fast I can't have any delay in delivery. Do you figure...
