I would love to find a cheap clean car for a daily, but here they either have too much rust, or none at all. Then you either dont want it, or dont want to drive it in the rain/winter.
I would also love to do a weekend track car. That would be a blast.
I love my ACT xtreme clutch. The heavier clutch pressure did take some getting used to, but I even have a bad left ankle, and can put it down all day just fine.
ACT does make a full face clutch it is the ACT HD as seen here. http://store.driftmotion.com/static/i-ts2-hdss.php
I would go with...
I wouldn't mind a narrowbody crank, crank window, hardtop supra. Lightweight with some good possibilities. I believe they had those in Mexico, but I could be wrong.
This has been why I have been thinking I need to find another career route. I have been feeling like not working on my car much anymore because of this. I would love to be playing around and working on high performance vehicles, but in the automotive industry it is very difficult to get into a...
Well maybe my late 88 block in my 89 will be in the midst of all this, and they did a good job on it. I can only hope ;)
I don't plan on anything larger than 83.5 in mine if it even needs a bore, so it really shouldn't matter too much, but it never hurts to check.
I would consider myself in the younger crowed, but I do feel times are getting worse. I myself try to wait for killer deals on parts when buying for my car.
If you don't want to pick up a full block, you may be able to source a used crank from someone reputable on the forums that can mic it and make sure it is in spec before you buy it, so you don't have to spend the crazy money on a brand new OEM crank. That is if the crank didn't throw the rods or...
I don't think this will help much, but I think I remember somewhere seeing Wiseco 85.5mm pistons. My question would be, what is the maximum safe size bore to run for higher boost and horsepower without compromising the headgasket between the piston's bores. (25-30psi, and 700+ hp just for reference)
I don't know what your goals for the car were, but if it is a true clean body car and nothing is wrong with it I would keep it. If you had plans to go with a clean higher horse build, I would keep the car, start with the fuel system, and have fun with a nice forged engine build with a nice...
Only had some flakes in my trans when my thrust washer went out, destroyed the bearing in front of it, and my first to second gear shift fork was pretty beat.
But I have never seen a trans that I have drained look like that. I would imagine you will need a new one or a rebuild pretty quickly.
Did you relocate your coolant resivour? I know I had to with mine. I have been really curious on how many other people have been relocating theirs. I personally made two brackets out of extra aluminum strips I had from my IC mounting brackets and brazed the aluminum and put in a couple bends...
Okay, so if I am correct on this I am thinking the firing order on our cars are 153624. So this is what I am thinking, I need to wire 1&6 together, 5&2, and 3&4. Please tell me if this is what you guys are referring to. (i may have the firing order wrong, but this is just off of memory.)
I will be buying one very soon. Have you made any progress on the 2j or is coil bracket? I might do some research here, and see what set of coils I will be wanting to run. I did just buy an aem v1, so I will be ready to do this sometime soon.
Yes, you will undo the two nuts that are on the bottom side of the frame rails, then pull out both of the big bolts that go all the way through the frame rail and attach to those two nuts you just removed. They are kind of a pain to get out and put back in the frame rail, but its easily done.
